More About the Author

Leo A. Notenboom started his computing career in 1976 when he stumbled into a required class "Introduction to FORTRAN programming". After graduating and then spending 3 years with a small company that was on a negative growth path he joined Microsoft in 1983. For the next 18+ years he either wrote software or managed those who did. After retiring from Microsoft in 2001 he went on to create "Ask Leo!" in 2003, a technical question-and-answer site where he publishes articles answering computer and technology related questions for the average computer user and consumer. Ask Leo! boasts 1.5 million visitors a month, and a weekly newsletter sent to over 125,000 subscribers. Leo lives in Woodinville, Washington with his wife of over 30 years, Kathy, and an assortment of Corgis and other urban wildlife.
