Maisto Special Edition 1:24 2008 Hummer HX Concept

I know these Maisto cars are not durable like Tonka trucks but they are ridiculous. My 2 year old son got this as a gift and in less that 24 hours one of the wheels has broken off. I fully expected it to break but not in less than 24 hours. I know it is probably not designed for kids that young but he really was not that rough with it. All he really did with it is open the doors and the hood and push it around on the floor.

If you are going to display it on a shelf then it is a super cool truck.


****UPDATE****

It is possible to repair these toys. I managed to fix the broken wheel with a paper clip, a small bit of super glue and a drill. I would imagine that I will be performing the same repair to the other 3 wheels in short order. This is without a doubt my son's favorite toy.

This car looks very cool, and has nice features, the doors open, the hood opens, turning the steering wheel actually turns the wheels. However, my son recieved this as a gift for his 3rd birthday, and it broke the 2nd time he played with it (a wheel broke off, and it is unrepairable). He was not particularly rough with it either. Would probably be okay with a very careful older child perhaps, but a big disappointment for us.
