4 1/2 * Going Mobile,
This review is from: Maisy Drives The Bus (Turtleback School & Library Binding Edition) (Maisy Books) (School & Library Binding)
"Maisie [the mouse] is driving her bus today. Who will be waiting at Bust Stop Number 1?" That's the beginning of this delightful tale for very small fry. The pictures are bright and uncluttered, and the book features some elementary counting. There's an element of surprise as Maisy picks up passengers at bus stops 1 through 5: Will there be room for Eddie the elephant? For toddlers and younger, a fun and colorful introduction to reading.

Maisy the Bus Driver,
By
This review is from: Maisy Drives the Bus (Paperback)
If you are the parent of a young child, you probably know who Maisy is. She's a mouse with a duck, a squirrel, an elephant, and a crocodile for friends. Why the crocodile isn't trying to eat the others is beyond me, but that's life in Maisy's world. Both of my daughters love the Maisy books; there's something about their simple stories and colorful pictures that even appeals to adults. The books are short and easy to read. But, the stories are never obnoxiously simplistic, like so many other books for small children. Maisy's working today driving the bus. Who'll be waiting to board at each stop? And will Eddie the Elephant manage to fit on the bus?

We love Maisy Drives the Bus! We've read Maisy stories to my son since we brought him home. He is three now and still loves the stories about her. He is a car guy too, so this book was perfect.

Great Book for Babies,
By A Customer
This review is from: Maisy Drives the Bus (Paperback)
This is another Lucy Cousins book your babies and toddlers are sure to enjoy! The bright, bold pictures captivate my ten-month old twins and this book is great for quiet time. The boys love to turn the pages to see which of Maisy's friends is waiting to be picked up at the next bus stop by Maisy and her bus. The twins love looking at the illustrations, pointing at the pictures and flipping the pages. You can't go wrong with any of the Lucy Cousin's books -- they are hits with all babies!

Simple and Fun,

This has been my child's favorite book for a long time. The only drawback is that she has torn it (and yes, I taped it back together). She loves to say "brmm brmm" and "bye bye". Now that she's a bit older she likes to see the numbers on the bus stops as well. It's very simple and clean. I think it's fun to read (even after over a year of reading it.).

Great Book for Babies,
By A Customer
This review is from: Maisy Drives the Bus (Hardcover)
This is a great book for older babies and toddlers. My ten-month old twins love the brightly colored pages and the big, bold text. They love turning the pages and seeing which of Maisy's friends is waiting to be picked up at the next bus stop. This book keeps their attention --- they quiet down, look at the pictures and point at Maisy's friends. This is another great Lucy Cousin's book that will sure to be worn out from use.

The text on this book is really simple, and a little boring for adults, but my little girl loves it. There are lots of vivid colors. My girl has loved this book since she was about a year old.

My son loves this book! He is 20 months and has been read this at nursery school, so he knows it by heart yet still loves it when we read it at home. Simple, classic.

Maisy the Mouse,

If you aren't familar with the Maisy series, you are missing a loveable children's character. I have bought almost everything "Maisy" for my nephew....and I get to read the books endlessly to him when I visit. Maisy is a little girl mouse, but appeals to both boys and girls (probably because she wears pants so often). Her friends remain consistent throughout the books and are likeable characters. Very simple books but good for hours of entertaining the little one.....now at 3 he recognizes some of the words.

Our family loves Maisy,
This review is from: Maisy Drives the Bus (Hardcover)
My two year old is a Maisy (and a bus) fan, but we all enjoyed this book. Today Maisy is a bus driver and she visits bus stops numbered 1, 2, 3 and 4 collecting her friends. Then they all get off at bus stop number 5. It's a good introduction to counting numbers without the confusion of also associating them with objects. There's not much to the story but it doesn't grate on me and it has a little more purpose than some of the other Maisy storylines. My son enjoys saying "brrm brrm" and "bye bye" at the appropriate places. And like all the Maisy books, the illustrations are bright and simple. |
