5.0 out of 5 stars A guidebook for humanity, May 6, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Maitreya's Mission (Volume 1) (Paperback)
In this volume, Benjamin Creme continues the extraordinary story he began in The Reappearance Of The Christ And The Masters Of Wisdom. He recounts further events in a story beyond comparison--the return to our world of the Christ, called Maitreya, and His group of Spiritual Masters. Coming to complete the mission He began in Palestine 2000 years ago when He taught the Law of Love, says Creme, "No Avatar has been so equipped for His task as the Christ now is." He believes that great strides have been taken by the human kingdom as well. This in itself will ensure a future of peace. These great spiritual events are so expanding the planetary consiousness that evolutionary awareness is proceeding at a heightened rate. Because of this, many of the "mysteries" of the evolutionary journey are now being revealed. Much of the subject matter of MAITREYA'S MISSION, Vol. I can be seen as a guidebook for humanity as it takes its first steps into the spiritual life. Basic to all spiritual progress are SERVICE and MEDITATION. Creme says that, "Through meditation, contact with the soul is deepened and strengthened, gradually bringing about the infusion of the personality by the soul." Through service in the world, "the purpose of the soul is carried out." This complementary path leads to a union of the physical and spiritual realms. REINCARNATION and the LAW OF KARMA govern all of our actions as we move from lifetime to lifetime in the world of form. INITIATION is the path of humanity's progess into the kingdom of spirit. It has specific roadmarks that denote our gradual detachment from the limitations of our physical, emotional, and mental natures. The study of THE SEVEN RAYS is an esoteric science based on the fact that everything in our universe is made of energies. These energies are seven in number and condition everything in creation from the formation of solar systems to the characteristics of our own personalities. An understanding of these spiritual laws will help humanity play its part in the healing and unification of all living things in the years ahead.

5.0 out of 5 stars A real eye-opener., January 8, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Maitreya's Mission (Volume 1) (Paperback)
Maireya's Mission covers so much ground that it's hard to grasp in one reading. So read it again! The question/answer part makes it easy, and also easy to pick it up for 10 minutes, and then put it down for awhile.

Whether you consider yourself a person of faith or no faith, Maitreya's Mission can EXPAND your view of your relationship to people with whom we share this planet. And isn't expansion what it's all about? Except, maybe, expansion of our waistlines, and that's not so good.

Highly recommended if you want to ponder and grow!

5.0 out of 5 stars Packed full of information on our past spiritual history!!!!, July 28, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Maitreya's Mission (Volume 1) (Paperback)
This book as well as the additional two other volumes is full of information which gives answers to an array of questions pertaining to the worlds past religious history. I particularly liked how Creme connects the pieces together much like an intricate jigsaw puzzle, it isn't until you are done reading the books that you truly appreciate our incredible spiritual history. He weaves a story which is full of life, rich with the history of the many great spiritual teachers who have graced and still grace this planet with thier presence. Upon completion of reading his books i felt renewed, full of hope and filled with a new appreciation for humanity. Creme's book is written in Q & A format while providing us with the basic teachings of Maitreya Buddah the world teacher. Creme answeres the questions as briefly and concisly as possible. He does not skim over anything, and I personally felt that he provided accurate, detailed answers which have often gone unanswered ! in the past. It is a must read for anyone of any faith.

1.0 out of 5 stars BEWARE, June 7, 2006

This review is from: Maitreya's Mission (Volume 1) (Paperback)
You will find that Benjamin Creme will use biblical scripture when it is beneficial to him in the literal sense, but is quick to discount scripture as symbolic when it contradicts his lie. "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are raving wolves." Matthew 7:15 "Take heed that no man deceive you. For many will come in my name, saying, I AM CHRIST, and will deceive many" Matt 24:4-5 "Then if any man shall say to you, here is the Christ or there is the Christ, BELIEVE IT NOT. For there shall arise false christs and false prophets, and they shall show great signs and wonders, insomuch, that if it were possible they shall deceive even the very elect. Behold, I have told you BEFORE" Matthew 24:24-25. These are the words of the only begotten son of God, the one and only Christ-JESUS. Jesus was very direct in his warning that there would arise a false Christ, an Antichrist, whom would deceive many. The bible does not speak figuratively or in symbolic terms on this subject. So that we would not be tricked by those like Creme and Rahmat Ahmad (the real name of Maitreya), Jesus Christ gave a description of what his return would look like. "And there shall be signs in the sun and the moon, and in the stars, and distress upon the nations...And then shall they see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with great power and Glory." Luke 21:25-27. Benjamin Cream would have you believe that this was fulfilled by Maitreya's arrival on a plane. The most obvious problem here is, Maitreya IS NOT JESUS. And no matter what Ben Creme says, the bible is very clear that there is only ONE Christ. "For God so loved the world that he gave his ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, so that who ever believes in him should not parish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16. So if God makes it this easy to identify the Return of Jesus Christ, does he make it easy to identify the false christ? Yes, he does. Revelations 13:18 states "Here is the wisdom. Let he that understands count the number of the Beast, or the number of his name. His number is Six Hundred and Sixty Six(666)." The name Maitreya has various spelling combinations in the Hebrew language. All variations equal 666. The bible sets a very specific timeline for the false christ and his undertakings. Maitreya who promises us something that he cannot give, has only one agenda...to destroy the human race. Maitreya will rule the Earth for seven years. This time will be known as the Tribulation. This Tribulation's beginning will be marked by the AntiChrist's 7 year agreement with Israel. This agreement, like all promises made by the Father of Lies, will be broken. There is no "Godhood" for any of us. This same thing was promised to Eve in the Garden... "for you will know the difference between good and evil and be as Gods" The real reward for this trespass against God (as Lucifer knew it would be according to eternal law) was separation from God and the beginning of suffering. The false christ will come as a man promising peace, and will undoubtably bring about the worst destuction ever known. 1 Peter 5:14 says "Be sober, be vigilant; because your advasary the devil, as a roaring Lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour." "There were false profits also among the people and false teachers among you, who so sly will bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord, bringing themselves swift destruction" 2 Peter2:1. Lastly..."Take heed to yourselves, lest anytime your heart be overcharged [with the cares of this life ] so that the day will come upon you unawares" Luke 21-34.

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Maitreya's Mission (Volume 1) (Paperback)
As is suggested by the author, the material in this book is for consideration only. The reader is only asked to keep an open mind. Other reviews of this book seems to suggest that the reviews were submitted by individuals who had already made up their minds about the reappearance of the world teacher that Mr. Creme tells us about. It is a fascinating and very exciting message and one that deserves reading by anyone interested in hope for the future.

The question and answer format of this book works very well and allows you to easily zero in on areas of interest. This book provides the seeker with a valuable resource, elucidating a whole range of spiritual issues in plain matter-of-fact language as well as providing hope for the future. For anyone wishing to break out of rigid doctrinal constraints, into a new and more fundamental understanding of the big existential 'life' questions, then this book is for you.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great In Most Respects, However..., June 24, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Maitreya's Mission (Volume 1) (Paperback)
Creme is a brilliant, compassionate man, and most of his message is great. However, if something seems too good to be true, it probably is not true. In fact, a more recent book has put forth the idea that the real Christ will not come again, and that real prophecy states that a message from the Spirit of Truth will guide us unto all truth, show us things to come, and glorify the Christ in heaven. And it states that the messenger is our brother and fellow servant who is from our midst and has the testimony of Jesus. He is not the Christ and not a superhuman, but a prodigal son of man who first suffered many things and was rejected by his generation, just as Jesus predicted. That's what is explained in Real Prophecy Unveiled, and it is a much more credible explanation of prophecy that foretells a future much like Creme envisions.

3.0 out of 5 stars Some great information & advice, BUT...., May 11, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Maitreya's Mission (Volume 1) (Paperback)
Ageless Wisdom, while recently sort of "owned" by the Blavatsky-Bailey-Creme school, includes the eternal and universal wisdom of the Christ, the Buddha, the Avatars, the Sat Gurus and the Sages, as well as the wisdom of the Holy Qabalah, the ancient root of Judaism and Christianity. It does not necessarily include the Bailey-Creme take on the "return" of the Christ. In fact, while Creme's work has extraordinary merit and certainly helps in preparing the world for what is coming, evidence has recently come to light that the real Christ will not come this time, but has instead sent a messenger.

You see, as Jesus said, "there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, who shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that they shall deceive and seduce the very elect." (Matthew 24:24 and Mark 13:22) That's why Jesus also said, "If any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not." (Jesus, Matthew 24:23 and Mark 13:21) That was not merely to warn us of imposters and pretenders. It was also to confirm that the person who would actually fulfill Judeo-Christian prophecy would not be the Christ, but His messenger. And there is much more evidence to further confirm that fact.

For example, the prophesied messenger is the "bridegroom-lamb," our "brother and fellow servant who has the testimony of Jesus." (Revelations 19:10). He is also the messenger for the "Spirit of Truth" that Jesus said would come, to "guide us unto all truth, show us things to come, and glorify Jesus." (John 16:13-14) Those biblical facts, along with many others, indicate the truth about today's messenger of God, who is not a superman, and not holier than thou, but a prodigal son of man who delivers the true message for the Spirit of Truth according to real prophecy.

The messenger says the world does not need a savior in person to scorn and crucify, or to exalt and put on a pedestal, and no man should be tempted with such great worldly power or bear its responsibility. He says the world needs truth, and nothing but the truth, and submits that the new covenant of God frees us from sovereign authority or sovereign leadership of any kind. He says THERE IS NO HIERARCHY IN CHRIST, and he repeats what Isaiah wrote, that "besides God there is no savior." (Isaiah 43:10-11) To emphasize this point, the messenger writes under a pen name (Joseph J. Adamson) and the message (titled Real Prophecy Unveiled) is written anonymously.

Considering all that, if Creme's Maitreya is actually a person, he would be a false christ who shows great signs and wonders, just as Jesus predicted, and the hype being spread about him is convincing enough to deceive and seduce even very intelligent people. Therefore, I will accept the message from the Spirit of Truth, in which real prophecy is unveiled. Because while there are many claims being made about the existence or the coming of the Christ (AKA the Saoshyant/Avatar/Buddha/Imam Mahdi), the real truth has evidently been delivered by the person who really serves the Holy One according to prophecy.
