Product Description

Battlestar Galactica and Majestic Studios present Starbuck, a 12" figure straight from the original classic "Battlestar Galactica" TV show from the 70s. A true collector's item, this highly detailed figure is recreated in painstaking detail.

Galactica follows the travails of the 12 colonies of mankind after their new hope for peace with the robotic Cylon Empire ends in the largest military sneak attack in the history of galactic warfare, leaving 12 worlds of mankind utterly destroyed. Surviving citizens of these worlds are forced to take flight into the unknown under the wing of their race's only surviving warship, a 4,100-foot-long carrier craft named the Galactica. Their only hope is to find the mythical planet Earth, the supposed 13th colony of Mankind, lost millennia ago when humans first left the mother world, Kobol.

Boy,what a heartbreaking disappointment this action figure was. From the time I opened the box,I was struck down in regards to the poor quality of craftmanship. This thing looks NOTHING like Dirk Benedict.DAMN,His skin color looks like death warmed over (not really,he doesn't look that good!).Skin tone is all wrong, and he doesn't look anything like the action figure on the box.The one in the box looks like some old guy whose skin is suffering from all types of disorders.Hair color and eye colors are wrong too.Stay away from this and the rest of the 12" action figures from this maker, they suck! The helmet is wrong as well as the black and gold trim on the collar and lower tunic.Very poorly designed and produced....heartbreaking to all REAL Battlestar Galactica fans.

2.0 out of 5 stars He's No GI JOE, That's for Sure. (Starbuck-buk-buk!), December 5, 2006

This review is from: Battlestar Galactica: Starbuck 12" (Toy)
I was surprised and greatly disappointed to see that this STARBUCK figure DOES NOT have the articulation range of a GI JOE/DRAGON or similar figure, especially considering its hefty price. Starbuck is made more like the cheap 1970s Star Wars 12-inch figures. The arms, for example, are one-piece up to the elbows (no wrist joints at all) so you can forget about doing any elaborate poses; in fact, the pose shown in the stock photo is about all you're gonna get. The head doesn't even have a neck tilt/swivel joint! The Starbuck figure also includes a rather lame 'alternative arm' holding a cigar (Jeeze, for 40 bucks a pop you would think the design 'geniuses' who cooked-up this half-baked turkey could have figured a way to add the cigar without having to disconnect the poor guy's entire arm.) Too bad the manufacturer couldn't be bothered to do a really great job on this item. (Probably too busy counting-up the bucks they were gonna make cashing-in on the new Galactica craze by fobbing-off some quick-and-dirty retro junk on us fans.) Yeah, too bad. I will be reselling mine. And Oh, by the way, the facial likeness stinks. If it weren't for the uniform and accessories, I would have mistaken this figure for a addled blond Ken with a blotchy tan! Gaaak.

This figure is the best! I like the attention to detail of the costuming, and the accessories are great! The likeness isn't 100%, but then nothing in life is perfect.

The joints are nice and tight and everything comes together perfectly.
