Majestic Elk, the second book in Voyageur Press' "Majestic" series, (following the spectacular Majestic Whitetails) includes the writings of some of the greatest authors in American outdoor literature, including the former editor-in-chief of Field & Stream and Outdoor Life, Clare Conley, and Hal Borland, a long-time writer for the New York Times.
Majestic Elk also includes essays from some perhaps unexpected sources: Theodore Roosevelt, who hunted elk long before he charged up San Juan Hill or won the Nobel Prize, and Jack Ward Thomas, the former head of the United States Forest Service under President Clinton, who contributes wonderful excerpts from his journal, chronicling ten years of elk hunting with a long-time friend.
