1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible March 10, 2011

Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
This game is absolutely terrible. The pitching is extremely flawed, it doesn't register when I press the button a second time for pitching accuracy. When I hit a homerun the announcers say "Ground Ball to second" or If I hit a ground ball they'll say "deep to center" and when I swing they say "he bunts!". I have never encountered a game that has had so many problems in it. I know the ps2 is basically obsolete but still, if you're gonna even bother releasing this game on ps2, at least make it decent. Huge waster of twenty bucks.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't like to beat a dead horse, but..... May 6, 2011

I have to concur with the other 2 reviewers. Did I buy the game believing it was going to be groundbreaking? No, after all it is a PS2 game. Did I think it would be this bad? No, this game will have its own special place in hell. I will have nightmares about this game for years. If I save one person from buying this steaming pile, I will feel much better.

1.0 out of 5 stars Possibly the worst Baseball game ever June 24, 2011
Platform for Display:PlayStation2|Verified Purchase
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
2K Sports should be ashamed of themselves. They haven't updated their graphics or motion capture animations in what seems like 10 years. The two things that stick out to me the most are how there are only two or three African-American or Latino players who are actually accurately represented and how horribly the play-by-play is synched.
For the most part, players who have darker skin in real life, are represented in this game as white. The worst case of this is Ron Washington, manager for the Texas Rangers. He is actually fairly well animated until he comes out of the dugout to make a pitching change. He has WHITE HANDS!!!?!??! How do you let this game go to market when it is as poorly created as this is?
Now as far as the play-by-play, let me make on thing clear. I don't enjoy Gary Thorne as a game announcer. I don't like the way he calls games and his voice gets on my last nerve. That being said, Gary Thorne is not my problem with this game. The recorded clips are programmed so poorly along with the gameplay that it makes the entire game nearly unplayable. If you manage to hit a groundball to the second baseman, you will more than likely hear an excited Thorne announce "High Fly ball! DEEP Left FIELD! WAY BACK! GONE! A home run." Except that you've grounded out to 2nd. This scenario is repeated EVERY. SINGLE. PLAY.
2K Sports should not only refund my money or the money that everyone who bought this abomination, but also pay for emotional distress and lost time damages.

Had the exact same problems as John listed in his review. Was so disappointed with the game, that the day after I bought it brand new for $20, I went to GameStop and traded it in for a $6 credit.
