2.0 out of 5 stars Incredible errors ruin a good idea for an interesting book, September 17, 2002

I had looked forward to the arrival of this book for several months. On examination it has so many major factual errors that it cannot be taken seriously even as light reading. I simply cannot understand how a book this shoddy could be published. The erroneous information is easily researchable in many reference texts and on the internet. The author, editor and publisher should be ashamed of this substandard publication.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Reference as far as it goes..., September 3, 2002

Good coverage of American, British, and German engines - the rest get little (Russian/French) or none (Japanese).

The lack of detail on the R-3550 is a disappointment.
