Addictive music via TV commercial,

I've seen the new Lincoln MKZ commercial a few times and was curious what the song was and what the rest of the song sounded like (after all, it's only a 30-second commercial). Whenever I have these questions, I go to adtunes.com and what do I find? That commercial on the front page! Apparently, I'm not alone in my enjoyment of this song. And Amazon had it for free! I am by no means a mainstream music listener. I listen almost exclusively to movie soundtracks: Williams, Zimmer, Newton Howard, etc. Every once in awhile an indie song catches my attention. This song has a great beat and good female vocals and makes me want to check out more of "Shiny Toy Guns."

There are times where the cover version is as good or better than the original (hear Ra's Every Little Thing or Alien Ant Farm's Smooth Criminal covers for others in the camp). This is one of those times. While maintaining a familiar feel to the original by Peter Schilling (edited per the kind comment), Shiny Toy Guns add their own touches and make the song their own. Fun to listen to and I can even hear it in my mind added to a DJ's repertoire of club (re)mixes to dance to. Definitely worth the download.

Great cover,

I first came across Shiny Toy Guns' version of the Peter Shilling song "Major Tom" on youtube.I have to admit I was a bit wary because I love Peter's song and secondly I am not keen on the current line up of Shiny Toy Guns (i.e I miss their previous singer). Much to my pleasant surprise, I find myself loving the band's cover of my favorite'80s song. The song is as catchy as the original and I dig the slick, modern electronic sounds the band adds to the song. I can't stop listening to the song. It is addictive.
