More About the Author

I am a wife, mother of two grown sons, an elementary school teacher, and a true foodie.

My passion for cooking has evolved into the publication of my first cookbook, Make-Ahead Meals for Busy Moms. I found that despite my love of cooking, I was often tired after work and lacked the motivation to produce a great meal day after day. In search of a better way, I turned my family-favorite meals into make-ahead meals.

Through years of experimenting with my recipes in the kitchen, I learned what meals tasted just as great after being frozen and what meals were not acceptable to freeze. While some meals didn't freeze well, they allowed for preparation the night before, ultimately saving time the following day. The recipes in my book include make-ahead directions for main dishes, appetizers, side dishes, breads, desserts and soups. I am hopeful that many busy moms will find my make-ahead recipes both beneficial and delicious, which will be the ultimate compliment to this cook!

Perhaps "Don't Panic, dinners in the freezer" would be a better selection. This book is a misnomer- it doesn't help you plan ahead for more than 24 hours. Anyone can figure out to do their prep work in advance then store the food in the fridge. Other negative aspects
1. no photos
2. recipes include things like "Cheese Whiz"
3. directions are for one meal at a time, (to save time- I like to make more than one meal)
4. very large type (could be a plus for some people- it make me dizzy)
5. baking instructions are for odd sized pans

I will donate this book to the library- not worth the shelf space.

This book is not what I need. It gives you recipes that are partially made a day ahead. I am looking for recipes that come out of the freezer. If I have time a day ahead, I'll just make the recipe. The recipes themselves are the usual ones that we have had forever and if you cook, you know what you can do ahead of time. There is not one recipe in this book that I am glad I have.

I love this cookbook! My problem isn't that I work or don't have enough time, its that I have an 18 month old (who is a job in and of herself) and a picky husband. I was excited to open up this cookbook and find some recipes that my husband will actually eat.

We tried the Mini Cheesecakes and the Baked Manicotti, both of which we loved! This cookbook has such simple and yummy recipes for the cooking impaired like me.

The writer Jane Doiron also includes tips on things that you can do ahead of time or even the day before. One of the suggestions was to cut all the vegetables and to combine different ingredients them put them in the fridge. I also love that she includes ways on how to freeze and reheat the meal, which is perfect for us because we don't eat very much so we aren't wasting any food. I would recomend this to anyone!

When Make-Ahead Meals for Busy Moms first arrived in the mail I sat down and marked all the recipes that I knew my family would like. I marked quiet a few pages! With everything from Bacon Tomato Mini Cups, Hawaiian Cole Slaw, Chicken Cannelloni and Lemonade Cake Jane has recipes that everyone in your house will love! I never would have thought I could make something like Chicken Piccata but with Jane's easy to follow directions I did, and it was yummy. I have also made the Honey Mustard Chicken Fingers which are a great family friendly meal. You can make a large batch and take out however many you want from the freezer and cook them. When my Moms group said we would be having a cookie swap over the holidays I was delighted to find a Snickerdoodle recipe in the Make-Ahead Meals for Busy Moms cookbook. I doubled the recipe and was able to freeze some of them to take to my parents for Christmas.

This book is perfect for busy Moms (which is all of us!). I sure wish I had learned about this cookbook before baby number 2 was born, I would have had my freezer stocked with delicious meals. I can't wait to try out some more of the recipes and provide my family with great food that doesn't break the bank or take all day to make.

I have all kinds of cookbooks that we use for our meals, but this one is by far the best because you cam make your meals ahead of time and freeze them until you are ready to make them. Makes it much easier and faster to make your meals.

We loved the Chicken Parmesan, the Panko Breaded Pork Medallions among many of the other recipes in the book. Jane went through each recipe with great instructions that are easy to follow. She also uses ingredients that most people already have in their house and nothing really out of the ordinary that you'd have to really go out of your way to purchase for a special dish.

Since Jane's book is focused on helping moms get ahead of the game in the kitchen, I knew this might be a secret weapon for me. (Truth be told, sometimes figuring out what to feed my family can get overwhelming.)

I was immediately tempted to try Jane's recipes for Italian Restaurant Chicken, Zucchini Squares, and Ginger Cookies. (The Italian Restaurant Chicken is on the cover- mmmm, looks delish!) The Ginger cookies were perfect and I ended up with an extra batch to put in the freezer.

We dug right in and enjoyed some Layered Cheesy Zucchini, which was really delicious with a side of barley and so easy to make! And I really appreciated the fact that Jane took the time to explain "Day Ahead" prepping instructions, as well as "Cooking Instructions" and even "Freezing Instructions." HUGE time saver for me! I am not a real 'natural' cook, so I loved the fact that Jane set me up for success!

First off, Jane is a very nice & wonderful person to deal with as far as customer service. I thought that was a very important note to start off on. The book itself is paper back and is filled with 208 pages full of yummy recipes! Each of these recipes are easy to follow directions, which is very important when you got a 2 year old child that doesn't know how to stay very quiet!

The secret lies in Jane Doiron's recipes optimized for make-ahead preparation. You'll get special menus perfect for freezing, pre-assembling or quick reheating -so that you can plan your family's dinners when you're ready, not when you feel pressured and stressed out.

Inside Make-Ahead Meals for Busy Moms, discover:

* Mouth-watering appetizers like crab melts, mini bacon quiche and sweet and spicy meatballs
* Great-start breakfasts such as cranberry scones and make-ahead coffee cake
* Filling mains, sides and soups including Italian restaurant chicken, pork Florentine, healthy broccoli slaw and hearty chili
* Perfect desserts like tiramisu, mini cheesecakes and chocolate torte
* Much, Much More!

I would defiantly recommend this book to all moms or anyone for that matter with a busy life style!
