She was the GIRL back in tha day,
By A Customer
This review is from: Make the Difference (Audio CD)
Tracie was such a role model when this album was released. She had talent and mass appeal. I miss that in today's teen market.
She was an award winning songwriter for the hit single "Tender Kisses" which is still impressive for a young black woman. I loved that song when I was getting tenderly kissed in those days. This album is dated for the most part but the nostalgia factor is high enough for a buy and a listen if you are of those who Tracie moved and got moving back in the early 90's

This girl is bad!I really like the slow songs! The songs that stick out are "I Have A Song To Sing," "I Like That," and of course "Tender Kisses." Get it, if you had a good time back then.

Tracie on her way,

With this CD Tracie made her breakthrough in the US too. You can see her development from a rather young teen star to a now more serious young lady and later on souldiva. This album is still a bit pop-ish but shows Tracies great vocal range and contains her most known hits.

This CD is a must for any early 90's dance/pop/house music fan! Features the megahit "This House," plus the hits "This Time Make It Funky" and "Tender Kisses." Be sure and check out Tracie's NEW CD as well!!

XL! I heard 2 of Tracie's songs on Chicago radio in 91-92. Did not know who the singer was, they didn't say, I just taped it on my cassette deck.:) and recently, I played that cassette, & wrote down a few lyrics, online search, ahh, so that's who that was. Promptly ordered it on Amazon. Excellent album, great variety, and well produced!...even the slower songs or ballads sound great; any modern hi-fi rig will do justice to the sonic excellence here. One of my new 90s favorites.
And, as often said before, wish she'd make another one!

Tracie's House,
By

I loved Tracie Spencer back in the day. She was pretty, talented, and had a strong set of songs. This second CD of hers, "Make the Difference," was her defining CD. From the Pop hit about homelessness, "This House," to the hit R&B ballads, "Tender Kisses," and "Love Me," Tracie covered all bases. Other highlighs included the Techno cut, "Too Much of Nothing," the funky "Save Your Love," which was the first single and the power ballad "I Have A Song to Sing." "Make the Difference" is one 90s CD everyone should have in its collection.

Make The Difference,

I agree with the previous poster that Tracie Spencer was a young lady who did not promote an overly-sexualized image to sell records, instead she hit us with that powerful voice that I fell in love with during her run on 'Star Search'. I'll never forget her heart tugging version of IMAGINE and how excited I was to see that translate into a recording career for her. Tracie has pure singing ability like her contemporaries of that era: Shanice & Stacy Lattisaw and these young divas with powerfully mature vocals definitely opened up the doors for the young r&b divas who followed.
This disc features a mix of beautiful ballads & uptempo dance tracks and although some of those tracks sound a little dated to the early '90s, Tracie's vocals make them a lot more interesting to listen to. My favorite tracks are: TENDER KISSES, SAVE YOUR LOVE, YOU MAKE THE DIFFERENCE, LOVE ME, SWEETER LOVE & THIS HOUSE.

I absolutely LOVED,this album, when it first dropped!! It reminds me,of the days, when I was anxiously, anticipating, the birth of my only child Vanessa,It was in constant rotation,on the airwaves, and I rmember my "road dog"crackin' jokes on me,for listening,to this so much,in favor of all of my "hardcore"rap tapes!! But regardless,of him, thinking I was goin"soft",I really enoyed the songs"Love Me"and"Tender Kisses" Tracie was very talented, and didn't have to resort to the"sex sells"tactics, that the young female singers of today, seem to,employ,to hide the fact, that they're really lacking,in true talent!!Tracie, will always,be a thoughtful, talented,LADY,in my eyes!!
