Remixed it good...er, well. Very well in fact. :), June 28, 2002
This review is from: Make It Good Pt.2 (Enhanced) (Audio CD)
'Make it Good' is not only the title track from a1's international release, but appears on the US album titled a1.
CD2 features 2 versions of the title track plus one of 'Caught in the Middle.' All tracks feature writing by a1.
1. Make it good - Extended version 4:01
Quick sound distortion into into an easy-going track taking a kind of folk-rock approach. Accentuated with quick keyboard action. A bit of padding is added to the track in the form of extra intro and outro plus repetition of the leading verse at the beginning and end. The length doesn't downgrade the song.
2. Make it good - Johan S vocal mix 7:16
A distorted version of the "revolution" bridge is brought out at the start a couple times before going into the computerized beats and starting the song from the beginning. A vocally distorted intro verse strewn throughout adds to the track's ethereal feel amidst a driving beat with a kick of bass. The vocals trail off toward the end leaving only the beat.
3. Caught in the middle - Almighty mix 7:15
Beat joined by chant of "caught in the middle" as new melody is weaved in followed by additional refrains "so different, so easy" and "can't get over you." Reverberation used to enhance original chorus minus a few lines. Not as hard as track 2. Fades out with computerized blorb sounds.
Excellent remixes. Interesting takes on both songs, especially given that 'Caught in the middle,' was already relatively uptempo. Both get what could be described as a two-step treatment, with 'Caught in the middle' succeeding a little better at it.
CD also includes behind the scenes clips woven into the 'Make It Good' video and a few additional clips of other goings on surrounding the album including the photo shoot that results in the poster that is also included.
