Lyrically Lame,

This review is from: Make It Happen (MP3 Download)
These guys are outstanding, and, not to sound like another broken record, a real breath of fresh air. This album continues to show their fresh musical approach. However, the lyrics on this one fail to keep me interested. There is nothing that compares to the sound that fingernails make on a chalkboard like uninformed musicians trying to tackle politics. Come on guys, if you want to be political at least keep it poetic. There are a few likable songs but over all not a good purchase.

An All-Time Favorite,

I originally discovered these guys when I heard their "JCB Song" on Pandora.com and I decided to pick up their EP "Extraordinary." I loved that album and listened to it all the time, so when "Make it Happen" came out it was a no-brainer to pick this one up. I bought it when it first came out and have listened to Nizlopi almost every day since.
Their music is incredibly honest and heartfelt. Every time I listen to their songs I feel uplifted and motivated. I'm not sure how it works, but it does. I know that these guys have decided to take a little break from making music, but I truly hope that they keep putting this great positive-energy into the world through their music. ... I may sound like a fanboy, but I really do love these guys' music and recommend it highly.

I just don't understand how these guys are still so far under the radar. This album continues a fantastic trend of great 'listen all the way through' albums. The songwriting is great, the vocals are unique, and the bassist is amazing.
