5.0 out of 5 stars A Right on Time Read! August 22, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed reading this book and I can really relate to Tara¡¦s story. I am a wife, mother, full-time employee, adjunct college instructor, AND beginning a doctorate degree program this September. This book was ¡§right on time¡¨ in providing excellent advice on balancing out a career and motherhood, as well as life in general. Although I am not currently in the career position I want to be, I am now confident that with hard work and patience I will succeed in my career goals.

The ¡§side-hustle¡¨ resource listing was exceptionally helpful and upon reading the tutoring suggestion I was instantly reminded of my side-hustle of being a part-time adjunct professor. I would love to see Tara add part-time adjunct college instruction as a ¡§side-hustle¡¨ because believe it or not you only need a bachelor¡¦s degree at minimum to instruct at most community colleges. Most universities may require a master¡¦s degree at minimum but if you have a doctorate degree expect a nice bonus in pay.

With a lot of community colleges and even major universities delivering their academic content via online courses, this is becoming a popular career trend for those looking for flexible part-time employment. I have done online part-time adjunct college-level instruction for a year now at my alma mater; I really enjoy it because of the flexibility (teaching online), the additional income and most importantly making a difference in the lives of my students. You may also find K-12 and secondary level schools are also entering the world of online teaching (i.e. Florida Virtual School)

I am excited and look forward to additional series releases from Tara ş

5.0 out of 5 stars A Manual for the Future May 9, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I love the conversational tone of this book. It's a manual for moving forward as a mom and career woman -- advancing from the static working world to something more exciting and better for your family. While Jefferson aims this book at young moms, it would be great for ANY mom who wants to change it up and take control of her income and enjoy her home life.

She is an avid blogger, posting daily on the thrills and challenges of being a 20something mom at TheYoungMommyLife.com, one of the top blogs on the web for young moms.

She was a keynote speaker at the National Crittenton Foundation's annual meeting and reception in Washington, D.C., and participated in its Hill Day, where she accompanied Crittenton agency directors on Congressional visits to advocate for policy changes that affect young mothers. She also writes for the Massachussetts Alliance on Teen Pregnancy's blog, The Pushback.

In her most recent position, she was a public affairs associate with one of the nation's largest foundations, managing its social media efforts, as well as writing and editing content for the foundation's website, employee intranet, various newsletters and other promotional materials.

She's busy at work writing the next four books of the series, giving a well-rounded view of what it means to be a 20something mom. She's currently pursuing a Master's degree in Family Studies from Kent State University. She lives in Ohio with her husband and two children.
