I love to write. That's pretty much all I do. Ask my family about the undone laundry, the un-bought groceries, and the fact that I rarely find time to get dressed in the morning. Actually, if you train your family right, they won't notice any of these things. "Popcorn for dinner again, mom! Cool," say my filthy children. God bless them, they don't know what panty hose are.

Oh, my poor husband.

Anyway, it took me a long time to figure out WHAT to write. So I spent years writing ads, brochures, and company reports. If I had to give advice to anyone--which, thankfully, I don't--it would be that if you want to write books, start now. In fact, get the heck off this website and do it.

"Make Me a Match" is funny, romantic, interesting--a great read. This new author is definitely on my keeper shelf. I'm looking forward to her next book. One of the great things about this book is the dialogue. The characters are real people with real thoughts--they're sweet, loving, smart, and funny. "Make Me a Match" is a great find for any romance lover.

Make Me A Match is certainly fun to read and entertaining. I love the idea of knowing your one true love and how that might turn out. Ms. Holquist is a remarkably accomplished writer for this to be her first novel. As another reviewer commented, what I liked best were all the interesting "ah-has" about gypsies, about life, about love and the tangled relationships we often have to unravel or reweave while still draming of true connection, affection and devotion.

I totally enjoyed this book!

It was funny, and moved along briskly, with a page turning and surprising plot. And educational - insight into gypsy psychology, as well as that of various ordinary people. The book taps into the universal fantasy that there is one person, in all the world, who is your soul mate, your one true love. And he may be dying. But he doesn't know who the heck you are, and you have to find him fast, and save him, and not scare him away becuase you might appear to be a psycho.

The romantic scenes were original, to say the least. Slowly building and culminating with a tryst in the cosy dwarf house of a mineature golf course - I would bet the farm that's never been written before. A satisfying read - I would recommend it.
