Kiley Dean - "Make Me A Song",

I first heard Kiley's new single on the way home, and I heard the lyrics "Rock the Boat." I wasn't sure if the lyrics were actually "Rock the Boat," but I was sure of the tune from Aaliyah's hit song. I was blown away by the song, so I went home and downloaded it. Upon finding Kiley's new single, I found a fan site for her. It has other songs off of her upcoming debut "Simple Girl." Trust me, if you think what you think what you are hearing now is tight, just listen to her other tracks. They are laced with Timbaland's signature beats. Go bye her album when it comes out. It's gonna be off the hook.

Kiley Dean, a decent start,

First I'd like to agree with one of the previous reviewers. "Make me a song" sounds like a cheesy slow song but it is not. It's a Timbaland produced song that sounds much like Aaliyah's "We Need a Resolution" with hints of Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River". It's chorus goes, "Can you gimme a song like Rock the Boat, Rock the Boat, Rock the Boat. Can you gimme a song that you and Missy wrote, Missy wrote, Missy wrote..." It is distinctly Timbaland with his beatboxing and short phrases here and there. Kiley Dean has a good voice, and I hope to hear more from her in the future. I give "Make me a song" 4 stars because it is good and entertaining but inevitably a voice like Kiley's, Timbaland's style, and lyrics that mention the name of one of Aaliyah's final singles (Rock the Boat) will remind people of Aaliyah and comparitively speaking, Aaliyah's voice possesses more soul, sultriness and sexiness. Don't get me wrong. Kiley is good and "Make me a song" is a great start for her.

The song is madd hott even though it's got the Aaliyah feel to it. I have this one dilemma, I don't have a CD or DVD player to play this single, so I had to borrow a friend's CD player to listen to it. FOLKS, if you're like me and don't own a portable CD player, then don't buy it. There's a block on this cd and don't try to "crack" it either because it won't even read in PCs period. But other than this, check it out, it's a hot song. I hope Kiley's management re-thinks about putting a "block" on her LP that drops.

I was shocked to hear that she was previously Britney Spears BACKUP singer. She has such an amazing voice. So..soulful and is so fun to sing along with. "Make me a Song" doesn't show how good her voice really is with it being somewhat fast, but is still a great song! Her voice really shines on tracks like "Who will I run to" and "Simple Girl". I hope to hear a LOT more from this girl! So much unbelievable talent.

A picture and profile of Kiley Dean may misguide you. Kiley has sung back up for Britney Spears and has lovely golden locks, so you might expect she is another wave off pop princess knock offs. Not so at all, as she proves herself in the studio that she is anything but. Under the shield of Timbaland, Kiley as amerged with smooth, flavorful vocals to styling of Tweet. Kiley is very comfortable with music, everything just flows."Make Me A Song", an Aaliyah lyric-sampled song, is a clanky shot of hip-hop backed with a creamy R&B undertone. Kiley's vocals are very notable, (I have heard to other songs by her where her vocals shine even more), the song is sure to be a summer hit. Check her out, and then some when she comes out with her debut ("Simple Girl" is the title as of now). Stardom for Kiley seems just upon the horizon.

When I first saw this song, I instantly thought cheesy especially with a kiddy title like MAKE ME A SONG. Nonetheless, all initial assumptions were both squelched and disproven when I finally listened to the cut. This former Britney Spears backup singer definitely did not belong behind Britney. Her voice is extremely soulful and complements this laidback but also energetic summer jam. With Timbaland at the helm as producer and some good vocals, this makes one of the best white chicks singing hip-hop since Pink's intial emergence. I definitely cannot wait for the CD.

Kiley Dean is the best white girl singer of all time and her album should've been released. But due to the "Make Me A Song" single, people took her the wrong way... thinking she was trying to replace Aaliyah.
I've come across the entire album and it is FIRE! Too bad it got shelved. Timbaland went to lunch on this album.
