There's only one thing lacking,
By David Sampson (Cleveland) - See all my reviews

I just saw Rahzel perform two nights ago in Cleveland, and then went out and bought the album. As unbelievable Rahzel is on the CD, his act is twice as fantastic live. And I can safely say that since recording the live tracks and interludes from MTM:2000, Rahzel has gotten better. He performed "If Your Mother Only Knew" and "Wu Tang", and the album simply can not touch the live performance. Don't let that stop you from buying the CD however, it is still the single most amazing piece of beatboxing ever laid on wax/silicon.

When I bought the MTM:2000 I didn't know anything 'bout Rahzel. I can say that I bought this CD 'cause the "Wu-tang Live" sounded really impressive. But later, as more I played it, as more I liked it. I haven't seen that CD for about two months till now , 'cause all my friends want to listen to the MTM:2000 too. I'm also thankful to Rahzel for a record that helped Bravo Crew (my b-boying crew from Lithuania) win first place in Lithuanian breakdance championship. The human beatbox stuff is so amazing, that it's being played in all our parties... Respect to all the hip-hop nation.Peace from Lithuania...

"The beat and the chorus, at the same time! "ÿ,

When i first picked this cd up some of the songs seemed played out. All were sorta generic. After I kept it on repeat for a while i found that no matter how it sounds it's as addictive as hell. I've owned this cd for only 3 days and the only time it's left my stereo is so i could listen to it at school. The track with Kool Keith has one of the most amazing choruses I've ever heard. The track 'If your mother only knew' Is amazing. Too bad the rest of the cd wasn't as original.

Awesome, just not the best,

When I got this CD after 2-1/2 months of waiting I was so excited. For the most part it lived up to my expectations. "Man vs. Machine", " All I Know", and " If Your Mother Only Knew" are some of the best trax I've ever heard, but "Carbon Copy", "Suga Sista" and others fall into the generic hip-hop that is ruining today's music. Overall it is worth it, but he needs to put out a CD where he just goes wild. Until then, I won't be fully satisfied. I BUST ANY MIKE THAT YOU HAND TO ME!!!

A good album, not great,

Rahzel is certainly a talented individual. But this record only hints at the stuff he is capable of. The traditional rap songs aren't particularly unique or interesting, and there is far too little of Rahzel's incredible noize-making abilities. Why is this? I don't know, but it would have made for a better album overall. I think you will listen to this a few times and then put it away, which is too bad considering Rahzel's talents.

I have never heard an album quite like Rahzel's...then again, there are few people like Rahzel. The beatbox champion steps onto the scene with a CD that would make Bobby McFerrin proud. Rahzel jumps from traditional beatboxing to MCing to one man band with incredible ease. He attracted big names like Slick Rick, Q-Tip, Erykah Badu, even Me'Shell Ndegeocello! If you embrace the new and different, Rahzel will not disappoint you.

Simply Amazing,

This album is simply amazing. I feel that this album expresses what true hip-hop is all about. Rahzel shows his talent in full effect during "if your mother only knew". It just unbelievable when he breaks into the chorus and the beat at the SAME time. Then as if we didn't believe he was the source of the insanity, he breaks it down even slower! Another great thing about this album is the live crowd effect on alot of the songs. He sure knows how to get the crowd hype. So even if you are not a fan of hip-hop, check this album out because this man is TALENTED!

I couldnt believe it before i heard it by myself Rahzel is greatest beat machine in the whole wide world. If you like rap music, you'll have to buy this. I mostly like Gangstarr, but now a days Rahzels album belongs to one of my favorites records. Listen to it by yourself if you dont believe me!

Rahzel is always a fun part of a Roots show and with his solo album he certainly comes correct. In this time of everyone being on everyone else's album, at least he had the sense to pick people who have skills. Erykah Badu, Q-tip and Slick Rick halp to make this an ill record. This is fundamental hip-hop which will outlast anything the PuffDaddy's of this world put out.
