Billy is good friends with Merle Haggard and was an important part of the development of country music on the west coast, going back to the 1950s. He's a wonderful gentleman and a great songwriter. This album has many of his best songs, including some where is backed up by Merle Haggard and the Strangers. Highly recommended.
