Scott Gibson's debut, MAKE READY, contains self-written songs that touch upon every important human emotion: hope, love and spirituality. The songs are proof that age is not a requirement for self-growth. Gibson may be young in years, but he is wise beyond in the ways of the life and the heart. Life's lessons are his subject matter and Scott's insights are razor sharp. There is an underlying message of hope - and the CD -while occasionally touching on the less-than-sunny side of life - always leaves the listener feeling upbeat.

Scott's nsightful and soul-bearing lyrics combine with simple but hypnotic rhythms and earn this CD an enthusiastic thumbs-up. Gibson's voice is not over-worked, but fits these songs like a wellworn glove. The musicianship is outstanding. Players from Austin's elite have joined with Gibson and the results are incredible. Standout guitar, mandolin and Dobro enhance Scott's vocals and the arrangements are dead on. This record takes the weight of the world off your shoulders.
Time spent with Scott Gibson's MAKE READY is like time spent with an old friend: comfortable and always intriguing.

I purchased, listened to - alot - and then bought several copies to share. I enjoy the versatility from serious country to love song to ballad. Scott also provides some insightful social commentary. I think you can enjoy this album even if you are not from Texas.
