Funky, Get Down, Go Go music! HOT!, February 2, 2000
This review is from: Make Some Noise (Audio CD)
The first song I heard of Liquid Soul's was Threadin' the Needle. I literally jumped out of my seat and exclaimed, "Oh, my GOD"! I was greatly impressed the moment I heard it. It was powerful and exciting. All the musicians in this band are extremely tallented. The bands blend, style, and beat are very unique, even in the acid jazz world. The combination of jazz, funk, rap, and the distorted guitar rock sound make Liquid Soul the wonderful combination that they are. This CD (as well as their first album) have been frequent in my CD-player and will remain that way. I recommend this album to anyone who likes jazz, rock, funk, etc. =)

you WILL buy this cd!, April 22, 2000
This review is from: Make Some Noise (Audio CD)
Liquid Soul is, simply put, the best funk band out there right now. Mixing elements of acid jazz, 70's funk, latin and swing, the band is versitle and entertaining. While Dirty MF really only has one song in the cd, his vocal rhymes are a great addition to the blowing horns section and the beldning of the bass, drums and guitars. (Mars can do some amazing things with his sax.. wow...) While I personally like "Cabbage Roll" the most on this cd, almost every track is 10 star quality, and the worst one (I want you to want me) would be considered god-like to fans of rap. no matter what you listen to, you will buy this cd NOW!

Smoking Jazz, March 27, 2000
This review is from: Make Some Noise (Audio CD)
Although this album has been out for 4 years now, I had to write a review. This is one of the best acid jazz albums around. Rarely is an album able to capture the energy of a band that "hits" live. But this album is as close to seeing Liquid Soul is concert as you can get without seeing them at the Double Door on Sundays. These guys deserve all of the accolades they get. They work hard at what they do and it shows in every note.
