One of the best stand-up CDs ever,

And I'm comparing this to Eddie Murphy's "Comedian" and Robin Williams' "Live at the Met" -- this is honestly one of the funniest, cleverest, out and out hysterical stand up CDs you'll ever hear. The only complaint I have is that Caliendo hasn't released more material: I've pretty much memorized this routine, as have all of my friends, and anyone I've shared it with. Hit-or-Miss, but Caliendo's best routines aren't here.,

Depending on how much you like voice impressions, this could either be great for you or could be irritating. Speaking as a standup conoisseur, I'll say that Frank Caliendo doesn't do a whole lot of "standup comedy" in the usual sense of jokes; he does voices as the title of the CD implies. Me, I love voice impressions, I think Caliendo is very talented and much of this CD is very funny, but a few of his bits on this just miss the mark entirely. For example, I realize this came out in 2002, but he slips into almost the exact same Adam Sandler "piece of pie" reference probably 10 times throughout the album. Furthermore, his Mike Myers/Dr. Evil hasn't aged well, his Chris Farley is tired (I'd say he needs to avoid SNL actor impressions entirely), and frankly his Al Pacino isn't very good. What he does excel at though, is pretty much everything else. He's an amazing voice talent. His John Madden impression is both hilarious and completely accurate, and I almost never get tired of hearing it. He also does a phenomenal George W. Bush, but his Bush bits aren't on here. I've heard better live versions of his Madden too. Sometimes he switches between Bush and Madden quickly, and it's some of his funniest material. If you listen to any of the satellite radio comedy stations, you'll hear Caliendo frequently, and you'll usually hear better comedy bits than are on this CD. 'Make the Voices Stop' is good as an introduction to Caliendo's talent, but they're not his funniest bits, and it's certainly not a definitive collection of what he can really do.

Caliendo CD,

This CD has several repeats of other work by Frank Caliendo. I was hoping to hear something new, but I have heard most of it from other CDs. It is funny, though, to hear him imitate others with his voice.
