If you haven't read any of the series, its time to start now.
Plainbetty
You do not have to have read the books to love the series, but a love and appreciation of the British wit and tongue-in-cheek humor is a must.
Meyow
The font is very readable, and the size can be adjusted per usual if that is a need/concern for you.

This book has a permanent home with me wherever I go because I return to it whenever I am at a loss for something to read. I have only to pick it up and I am quickly transported to the world of Tilling and all the hilarious escapades of its residents. I love these characters!

This wonderful compilation of E.F Benson's most delightful characters is a must have for anyone interested in british humour. If you like anything from P.G. Wodehouse to "Absolutely Fabulous", you should read these books. I have a dog-eared copy of this which I have been reading almost continually for the past 15 years; whenever I need an escape from real life, I take a vacation in Tilling with Lucia and Mapp

This is one of my favorite series of books, and glad to have it on kindle now as well. Just wanted to drop a note to say as of this review, September 2012, the formatting issues mentioned in previous reviews seemed to be resolved. There is now a linked table of contents to all of the books included. The font is very readable, and the size can be adjusted per usual if that is a need/concern for you.

I own this omnibus as a hardcover edition and I call it "my doorstop" as it is huge and weighs a ton. Though I've bought individual books of the series over time, it's nice to have it in an e-book format, especially if it exposes more people to Benson's genius. But if you like this, let's all push and ask for his books to be republished. We need to keep "forgotten" classics of merit like this in circulation!

Benson wrote over 80 books, not all of them great, but if you love Mapp and Lucia I would recommend, of his others, Secret Lives, Paying Guests and Mrs. Ames: A Novel (Bloomsbury Group). They are the most similar in tone and/or structure to the Mapp and Lucia books. (Secret Lives is my personal favorite, though only available as a used book.)

Mapp and Lucia: The Complete Series contains all six of the Lucia novels, which are also compiled under the title Make Way for Lucia. The novels, needless to say, are excellent -- particularly the first four. You'll laugh out loud.

This Kindle anthology contains no table of contents and is in other ways quite difficult to navigate. The font, very difficult to read, is one I haven't seen since the days of IBM Selectric typewriters. Considering Mapp and Lucia: The Complete Series cost a mere 99 cents, it's OK, but don't expect the usual Kindle quality. In fact, every free Kindle book I've gotten has been of higher quality. Caveat emptor.

These books are a forgotte gem. Set between the two wars, they recount the trials and tribulations of two great female combatants as they battle against all and sundry (and, of course, each other) for the minds and hearts of their town.

Step back into the 1930s for the best laugh you have had in years.
Such fascinating characters - perhaps we all know a Lucia?.

These books, after you've read one, are addictive if you like British fiction. Nothing much happens; the interest is provided by the small daily events and petty quarrels of the unique characters, which are usually quite amusing.

Middle class British village life between the world wars may not be everyone's cup of tea. But since it's mine, I recommend this to anyone that loves Jane Austen, Noel Coward, or P.G. Wodehouse. The frothy vainglory, hypocrisy, social oneupmanship, petty jealousy, gossip, double dealing, warmth and, occasional moments of greatness of the cast of characters is timeless. Read the book and be hooked!
