I wish my mother had told me how having children could devastate my relationship with my husband. All my female friends and my mom just said "Oh those first years are hard" - but no one told me what the "hard" meant. What is great about this book is it gave me an "ah ha" moment where I realized what my mother and friends didn't tell me. They didn't tell me that it isn't just hard dealing with a newborn, but it is hard on my relationship because my love life went away with my husband. My "ah ha" moment was that I had put my love relationship aside and focused all my attention on my baby. This book has some great practical and good advice that helped me bring more balance to my life and helped bring back more love and sex into my relationship with my husband. I needed the love and he needed the sex to feel closer. Everything got easier when we felt closer. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is THINKING about having kids because no one tells you what is really going to happen to your marriage and what you can do to plan for the chaos of raising children.

My husband and I started our business together 8 years ago and it certainly feels like we have an 8-year old in the house. This book has fantastic tips that are helpful for couples in any circumstance where the focus of the relationship starts to shift outward. Basically, this book is full of advice for how to stay connected to your partner. And, it's easy to read because the advice comes in the forms of anecdotes that demonstrate results. It's fun and practical!

This book teaches that you don't have to put a "hold" on a sweet relationship with your spouse. It's a welcome guide for couples with children. During the years when kids are young, it's hard to function. Being a "good parent" for twenty-four seven is exhausting. For most, all the energy goes towards the kids; parents feel that their needs don't matter. This witty, outside-the-box book gives creative ways for you and your spouse to stay close and to keep a sense of fun in your relationship.

I wish this book was available when my kids were younger! The authors share many fun, funny and exciting ways to make time for intimacy when you have kids. They discuss the importance of keeping your relationship romantic, despite the exhaustion, constant interruptions, and the everyday challenges of life while trying to manage a family! I recall the difficulty finding the time, place and even the energy to make love when my kids were young, and found this book to be an excellent resource for those in that very situation. I highly recommend it for anyone who is or knows of others going through this important time in life! It's a great shower gift for those expecting, or those with growing families!

Make Love Whenever Possible When Married With Children is a great ride of a read that gives so much important information while keeping the humor on high.

In many ways it is the essential reader's guide for the married two who started it all, creating a family and spending a lifetime together. All the trappings and slippery slopes that send spouses to therapy are given a fresh context filled with gifts.

I highly recommend "Make Love...for spouses present and future.

A pleasant inter-generational and universal read which could be of interest to new couples of any age : parents but also grand-parents, no longer young and not too old, whose intimacy "still active" must also be preserved when grandchildren are present.
For people are over 50 : to be read immediately !
Bravo for the beautiful illustrations.
