Get ready to be motivated,

Very easy read (definitely in 1 sitting for me). Personally, I like books that get to the point quickly and does not ramble on and on. Great anecdotes that make the point. Patricia has a very friendly tone and her cheerleader personality comes through without sounding fake. She is a true believer in herself and shares with her reader SPECIFIC WAYS to do the same. The book does not apply only to people in the sales profession. If you are just waiting around to get recognized or promoted, this book is definitely for you.

I like Patricia Fripp. I sense she is a smart, genuine person with real heart, and has lots of valuable experience to share with other people who meet the public for a living. I'm sure she'd be great fun to have dinner with. That said, nothing in this short book runs very deep, centered as it is around business anecdotes and focusing on sales, but if you want some idea of how this little English hairdresser achieved success in the American business world as a public speaker and sales coach, this is a quick, painless way to get that idea. Though she quotes her brother a few times (guitar legend Robert), I wouldn't expect this book to give you much insight into his thinking.

This is a remarkable book. Patricia Fripp has carried me through days of apathy. Her ideas wash over me when I read this very inspiring book. I would go so far as to say that Ms. Fripp saved my life (in a manner of speaking) when she gave me back the power to believe. That is, believe in myself and my own innate ability to succeed. I went into this book with eyes wide open, and haven't been disappointed in what I've learned. Has this required discipline? Yes. That is a fact of life. As a matter of fact, while reading the book I replayed my past career frame by frame, and was embarrassed to recall the indiscipline that had characterized my work thus far. There is no easy money out there, folks. No easy, quick way to avoid being among the exiles of the professional world. But, while it is impossible to achieve the aim without suffering, it is possible to achieve the aim without "faking it". That is the key to this book's powerful message. Learn to make it, so that you don't HAVE to fake it! You don't have to be the great deceiver, or lament the fact that you feel like the mincer at work. This is very liberating!I particularly liked the chapter where she instructs the reader to be happy with what you have to be happy with. A clever turn of phrase that teaches us to accept what IS while at the same time changing what we can change. For example, in the past I have felt like I talk to the wind when I try to give a sales presentation. I felt spaced out and painfully self-conscious, like a moonchild, with merely the dream and the illusion of being able to succeed. The dance of the puppets of the boardroom was discouraging and depressing to me, as I felt that I was one of those puppets. One of those "empty suits" as some say, playing indoor games at work instead of building a happy family at home. Boy was my face RED. I felt like a fallen angel. I was so unsuccessful that one time I feared we would end up eating cat food, seriously. (Ask my wife, she shudders to recall how often I ran to buy potato pie at the last minute when my paycheck arrived). It was like being in a psychological cage. And then, vrooom, this remarkable book came rushing into my sphere of consciousness. It was like providence, coming down out of a starless sky. Get this book and you need no longer be sleepless with worry about these things. I read this book as a man with an open heart, and now people in my industry dig me. No warning! It just happened after applying the simple principles outlined in this life-changing work. I used to feel like a dinosaur in the business world, and now I'm walking on air. This book is the heartbeat of my new approach to my career. I had been waiting, man for a paradigm shift in my work life and I found it. Neal and Jack and me were like three of a perfect pair, trapped in the same dead-end office, but I studied this book and it was like, thrak!! Truman Chipotle no longer existed, and he was replaced by a small, mobile, intelligent unit of workplace success. This book belew me away and I am levin it. Get this book and aim for success with the gunn that works, and that is the powerful weapon of Patricia Fripp's fast-acting strategies! You might have mastelotto but there is no need to miss out on the even bigger jackpot, and that is the jackpot of lasting victory in the professional arena... taking your career to level five. When I say stop, continue to seek out this essential reading. I still haven't learned to tolerate people who use flash photography when I am up front giving a major presentation, (LOL), but the long-lasting success of which Ms. Fripp teaches is mine, and it can be yours as well.
