If you enjoy his free info, then you will like this book.,

I purchased the book from the Amazon.com auction a couple of weeks ago. I liked it, but would not recommend it as a first book on playing craps (for example, there are no pictures showing the crap table layout). If you are someone who has read on the subject before, and/or done a little gambling, you will probably find it good food for thought. Larry is very honest about the problems with some of the systems in the book, and admits that a couple of them will have you sitting out a hot roll. If the table is cold, I can see how his theories might work. I found the section on comps to be invaluable, and plan to follow his advice on my next trip to Vegas. The coupons at the back, however, are not for meals or lodging, but are for subscriptions to the Crapshooter and dollars-off coupons for books. If it weren't for the problems I have pointed out in this review, I would have given the book five stars - Larry is a very entertaining writer, and his style is very easy to read.

What a waste of money!,

What a total joke. The Horn bet system is the funniest thing I have ever read. "You can't lose if you have an unlimited bankroll and no table limits". Yeah, I want to have to bet $500 on the 3 just to try to break even. Please. There is not one good "don't pass" system yet the author is a self claimed don't pass player. What am I missing here? Coupons are a joke.

Make Your Living Review,

This book is definitely NOT for the beginner, as it does not tell you how to play the game, and even for the more advanced player, there isn't much you haven't seen before. The book concentrates mostly on right betting, pass line and place bets etc. Although I give it a plus for it's brief chapter about pre-setting the dice, I think the author leads you to believe that gambling is more profitable than it really is. Oh, NEVER play stricly for comps, this will cost you so much more in the long run. Play to win a profit, then you can pay for your own dinner, and have a few dollars left for the gift shop.

Make a living, I doubt it very much if anyone would take this book serious. Example wagering $40 win $11 at the most or actually $7. It all sounds good but I read this book for serious advice not what someone wrote to be different and say that betting on the passline is a BAD bet. It all matters what you do from then on. If this book can earn you a living then why is the author writting books to make a living. Oh yea the $20.00 in coupons is B.S.! They are for other gambling books, not coupons for Vegas or A.C. Talk about sucker bets or bad bets this is one!

Probably the best book ever about the game of craps.,

This review is from: How to Make Your Living Playing Craps (Paperback)
First of all, you need to know how to play craps BEFORE you buy this book. Unfortunetly it DOES NOT teach you how to play. But if you already know how, this is a great book. I saw three systems I've never seen before, and tried them all out at the Stardust and yes, they all seem to work. Not all the time, but enough to show a good profit every time I play. The price is a little high, but you do get $24 worth (not $20 as the book states) of coupons for books, which is better than nothing. Even if I just learned one good system from this book, it would have been worth it - and I learned a lot more. It's the best book I've ever read about craps, but again, it's somewhat confusing for beginners.

If I placed this book on the pass line and immediately threw a 2 or 3 or 12.....it would be a good thing.

The Title of the Book Should be changed.,
By A Customer
This review is from: How to Make Your Living Playing Craps (Paperback)
His strategies are nothing new. For example, his "6 & 8" play is as old as the game of craps - but with a slight twist - and doesn't help you win in the long run (and sometimes in the short run). If the title of the book was something like "Play a Better Game of Craps", it would be fine. But to title this book "How to make a Living Playing Craps" is uncalled for. I thought highly of Larry's reputation in the gaming world, but this book makes me wonder.

If you buy any book on craps this is the one to get.,

I have been playing craps only for about six years and must have several hundred dollars worth of books just on craps. I just wish that I could have gotten this book years ago. Just the FREE gambling coupons will pay for the book its self. The book plainly teaches how to get comps (Free dinners, free shows and free rooms). There are many ways to bet at the crap table and this book in simple language that a beginner can understand. You can be making money the first day on horn bets, place bets and of course line bets.In no time at all the reader will be understanding each one. There is not a lot of fill. Larry gets right to the point in an understable way and you are not bogged trying to waide through the explation. The author even covers "Setting the dice" which you will not find in most books. The reader is told how to get Free catalogs, internet resources and free advance systems. Anyone that plays craps will tell you that this is the best on the market and you can't beat the price. With all the free things you get it pays for it's self over and over let alone the money you'll make from playing craps and that is the real reason I bought the book.

WASTE OF MONEY,
By JAMES D SUDOMIR (FALLBROOK, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: How to Make Your Living Playing Craps (Paperback)
I could kick myself for purchasing this book. The only person who will make from reading this book is the author. I would not sell the ranch to his methods/systems. The author does not provide any documentation that this system can win in the long run. I am glad to see other readers share my opinion. I have developed a system/method of play that has won in 30,000 decisions. I wouldn't write a book because I believe it has to pass the 100,000 decision test.

This book taught me how to get a lot more from any craps game. For example, I never really knew about comps before and now I ask for them every time I play. The coupons in the back of the book are OK but not exactly "comps." There are good systems chapters on place bets, horn bets and a way to bet on numbers before the point is established and make money doing so. There are also chapters on dice setting and the internet and evertything is arranged so to spell out CRAPSHOOTER - C is Comps, R is for Right, A is for Attitude, P is for Pre-Setting, etc. There are also a lot of cartoons and jokes, a glossary, index, etc. Also it is fun to read and easy to understand. Probably one of the best books on craps I have ever read, hope he writes another one soon!
