The author stresses creativity by encouraging readers to substitute their own ideas for the types of materials used. Most projects involve beads, but some use clay, shells, rhinestones, etc., with the finished product attached to some sort of hair holder. Many handicraft and safety tips are sprinkled throughout the pages. Black-and-white line drawings illustrate the steps in the process. A worthwhile addition to the arts-and-crafts shelves.
