Book Description

July 1, 2007
Make It Your Own: Recipes and Inspiration for the Creative Cook" is a new kind of cookbook. Written for those who love to create unique, exciting meals for family and friends, it is filled with wildly flavorful recipes that boldly combine tastes from the world over. It accomplishes this in exciting new ways that inspire a sense of adventure in cooking.

Each recipe is followed by a minimum of two variations?Classic Combos and Daring Pairings?that show the reader how a few minor changes to a recipe can result in a completely new dish. For instance, the author's prize-winning Spice Dusted Salmon with Curried Orange-Apricot Sauce is paired as a classic combo with Mustard Seed Salmon with Lemon-Dill Aioli.

5.0 out of 5 stars Versitile and Simple, makes me look like a master chef!, August 11, 2007

I'd consider myself to be your average kitchen klutz, especially when faced with a shift from cooking for my family of 4 (two of them under 5) to a family occasion or a backyard evening on the patio with my "foodie" friends. I love and crave the fresh, the daring, the healthy, variety and the fun that the best cooks incorporate in their meals.

This beautiful book has all that, and the options to simply change a few igredients here and there to suit your pallette or theme. I've found a new confidence in my abilities, grown vastly in my repertoire, and learned to live without the stress of preparing "new" things for special guests. Not only that, but I'm actually starting to LOVE doing it, and I do believe that creating anything with that feeling underlying your effort can only make it a success.

Get one as a gift for anyone special in YOUR life. Maybe they'll have you over? :)

Enjoy!

this is a great book for people who want to use the recipes. It is not for someone who wants to leaf through a cookbook for fun. It is especially valuable for those looking for new ways to use saucesw etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Make It Your Own, September 26, 2007
This review is from: Make It Your Own: Recipes & Inspiration for the Creative Cook (Paperback)
Make It Your Own is without a doubt the most interesting and informative cookbook I have ever bought. The recipes are delicious and I loved all the suggestions on how to "make them your own". It's a must for anyone who loves to cook or experiment with recipes. Jean Pickering
