Love this book and her. The yoga sequences are well explained and lovely when practiced, the photos really show how tasty the food is and the food itself (of the ones I've tried) are easy and tasty. Tara also shares fun history and clear insight. Loved the book and would adore meeting her

Yoga, meditation, and healthy eating are the foundation of complete mind and body well-being. Make Your Own Rules Diet by Tara Stiles focuses on these three areas as essential for living a fulfilled and joyful life.

I was lucky to unexpectedly meet Tara Stiles at her book signing after taking her Free Flow Lets Go yoga class sponsored by Goyogaco and W Hotels in Scottsdale, AZ. It was cool to get a hug from her, and then to read in her book how much she values the joy of hugging!

At first, I thought Make Your Own Rules Diet would be primarily about recipes and healthy eating. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it is so much more, offering motivation to cultivate daily at home yoga and meditation practices, and a glimpse into Tara's history with food - the healthy and the unhealthy.

Create Space & Sensitize

The first part of the book spends time convincing us of the importance of getting back to the necessity of feeling. We are so programmed to put what everyone else thinks and what advertising tells us we should want before how we feel. It is too easy to get caught up in doing the things we think we are supposed to do because everyone else is, and to ignore all the signals our bodies send us about what is right and what is not.

Tara Stiles sends a gentle yet powerful wake-up call that there is a better way through her latest book. She calls us to create space in our lives, remembering to breathe and allow our power to know whether something is on the path to our greatest life or not to shine above everything else.

I liked the background and the philosophy Pictures were nice, even on kindle fire. I wish there had been more recipes, though. There are so many smoothie recipes readily available. I would like to see fewer smoothies and more food.

I love Tara Stiles! This book is truly amazing. Tara is a huge inspiration to not only be healthier with your food choices, but also to practice healthy living with yoga and meditation as well. She teaches you to listen to your body and ditch the scale. Her recipes in this book are phenomenal. Buy this book, you won't be disappointed!

I like the philosophy of this book and the bits on yoga and meditation. Her writing style is accessible and friendly, especially if you're a touchy-feely hippie type -- and there's nothing wrong with that. However, the recipes are mostly unbalanced nutritionally. The food section gives good examples of how to get your fruits and veggies in, but I don't know how this woman teaches yoga every day and survives with so little protein.

Another reviewer mentioned that this book encourages orthorexia, and I don't necessarily disagree. But, to go along with the theme of the book, you don't have to strictly adhere to her recommendations. I personally would recommend adding protein supplements to her recipes, but that's just me.

It's important to keep in mind that Stiles is a yoga instructor with a background in modeling and dance, not a nutritionist. If you're looking for a rough guide to intuitive living and yoga, this is a good place to start. If you're looking for a healthy, balanced diet book, look elsewhere.

Tara Stiles has been my online yoga guide for nearly a year and she continues to inspire me everyday. This book is like a little bundle of inspiration that you can open anytime anywhere. Her ideas about diets and calories, lifestyle etc have changed the way I look at my diet (diet as in what I eat, not what I'm not eating). She's is wonderful and genuine and this book shows it in every page.

Amazing book I've done two of the yoga practices so far and can't wait to do another one tonight. I like what is said about meditation. I've tried several of the recipes all have been very yummy! It's always good to read a book that leaves you with a positive happy feeling :)

Definitely like this book. Many good ideas, suggestions, and yoga moves that anyone can do. I do not have a yoga body, but I can do many of the poses! Tara Stiles has lots of good ideas and definitely wants to give readers alternatives to pills, powders, and false promises sold on television. Good for her!
