This review is from: Making Architecture: The Getty Center (Getty Trust Publications: J. Paul Getty Museum) (Paperback)
I left a positive review on "The Getty Center; design process." IT is more of the design recording of the models and drawings with few words in B&W prints.
I picked "Making Architecture; The getty Center" as the second best for the professionals, or #1 for the general readers. The paperback bound, the first 95 pages cover texts, and b&w pictures of the intro, chronology, narrations, Design related drawings and plans. The latter half is the actual picture recording of the completed buildings, artistic and informative both, then the last few pages come with the landscape construction pics. I find it very useful and well-edited for visual experience flipping the pages. I also compared these two books with two other books related to the Getty Center in that review. They are ""Building The Getty" and "Antonia Mulas - Richard Meier :The Getty Center" I did not like the last one at all. not worth a penny. As I addressed in the first review on "The Getty Center; design process," This place has to be visited and no other books can give the sense of locus, in fact. But, if you have to buy a book, this will be a very educational and well-recorded souvenir. |
