5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding documentary, May 5, 2005
By G. Bock (Tennessee, United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I don't know why previous viewers called this program "biased" because I found it to be a fine presentation of both sides of the issue. We are shown happy couples who are grateful for the technologies that helped them conceive, and we are shown one couple in particular that had a bad experience with the in vitro process. Experts on both sides of the issue share their opinions on reproductive technologies, and there are many interviews with doctors and patients emphasizing how positive it is (if anything it is biased in favor of the technologies). I use this video to spark discussion and debate in an academic writing class I teach, and it is very effective in making the issue understandable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good video : a DOCUMENTARY, not a feel-good tape, December 28, 2001
By A Customer
This can be a very disturbing tape. I think it did tend to be biased. They showed families who had succeeded, as well as those who suffered all sorts of terrible fallout, but it still felt biased against fertility treatments. This is a very emotional subject, but I thought it was well-done, and a good addition to a "Frontline" library.

1.0 out of 5 stars A video against InVitro, February 8, 2000
By A Customer
This video showed the negative side of high tech conception. Each story shared had a tragic or unethical part to it. I was hoping to see a step by step of the entire InVitro process, but this was not to be. I feel they should have shown both the positive and the negative sides of the procedure. Instead, I found an exagerated negative view point with very little technical information given. The video was a big dissappointment.
