Great book for kids, June 28, 2000
This review is from: Making Candles (Kids Can Do It) (Paperback)
I recently bought a few candle-making books for myself, including this one. I chose this one because I found a lot of the other ones intimidating and I just wanted a basic introduction to candle-making. As the title suggests, this book is *truly* for kids. The designs (really cute) and preparation suggestions (using crayons to color the wax or using a milk carton as a mold) are simple and great for kids, but if you are looking for a lot of detail on what kind of wax/thermometer/scent/dye to use, then this is not the book for you. This book did inspire me to make my first candle; I bought a few sheets of beeswax and rolled them around a wick that came with the sheets. It took me less than a minute, but I think it looks pretty good. : )
