Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

To dress or not to dress? This is an ever-present debate between contemporary and traditional teddy-bear fanciers. British manufacturers and authors Brian and Donna Gibbs give readers the choice of six different well-loved forms--for instance, with mohair fur, wooden joints, glass eyes, stuffed with wool--all cavorting in costumes or not. All steps are illustrated in enough detail even for beginners. The clothes reflect global influences: a kimono-clad girl bear, a Russian princess, a Swiss maid and mister, and charming accoutrements (rucksacks and rocking chairs) to set the stage. More than just "bear" necessities. Barbara Jacobs

5.0 out of 5 stars Making Teddy clothes and bears, May 9, 2011

This review is from: Making and Dressing Traditional Teddy Bears (Hardcover)
So far I really like the book. Has a section on tools and materials you'll need. THere are step by step guides that seem to explain things well. All with good photos for better understanding. There are some very cute clothes patterns as well as bears patterns. I think this book would be good for beginners and more experienced as well.

I am very new to bear making and am not an experienced sewer.
