5.0 out of 5 stars You Need This Book!
These are polymer clay crafts that anyone can do. They look professional. Each one is unique with excellent detailed instructions. The pictures give step by step close ups. You'll look like a pro. Added bonus are the sources listed in the back of the book for some hard to find materials (ie glass water globes for crafts) that you can buy online. You can't go wrong with...

3.0 out of 5 stars Making Gifts in Polymer Clay
Suprising that it is aimed for children, although the directions are very
clear and advanced.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a terrific starter book!, July 9, 2001

For beginners and intermediate-level clay crafters, this book has a wonderful character of its own. Lots of fun projects, and some intermediate techniques taught, too... but the book is clearly written enough that an 8-10 year old child should be able to follow the instructions.

This book is great! I teach polymer clay classes to children and they can't get enough of the activities we have used from this wonderful guide! The directions are easily understood. Pictures grab the attention. Highly recommend adding this to any book collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book, January 15, 2002

I don't say that about many books. I bought my little girl some clay for xmas, and I wanted a book to help us make faces and figures. There's some adorable figures in this book. It's a great book if you like happy, funny little people and want to learn how it's done.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this book!, December 11, 2006

I really love this book. It has cute ideas and the pictures make it hard for you to mess it up. I mainly bought it for the cute mermaid globe on the cover but found that I liked quite a few of the other figures as well. What I like best is all the different techniques, especially the ones using metal leaf. Its not just 'make this shape, this shape, and stick em together', theres lots of clay blending techniques along with it so you can make color swirls, add glitter, and some cane methods. I've never used a pasta machine before so the tips there were helpfull. I'm for the most part a beginner so I was looking for a book that would give me a good idea how to start and some fun techiniques to play with on my own and this book was exactly what I was looking for.

im 12 and I LOVE making things from polymer clay. this book has instructions that are very easy to follow, but the projects end up looking like they took forever. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in polymer clay.

p.s. you should probobly have a pasta machine, it is very important.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Polymer Clay Book, January 29, 2007
This review is from: Making Gifts in Polymer Clay (Paperback)
I received this book yesterday and I have to say it's the best polymer clay instruction book I've come across. The instructions are very clear and the diagrams and finished pictures are 100% top quality. I particularly liked the section on measurements of clay needed to make specific sized balls, arms, legs etc. It takes the guess work out of modelling. If you are looking for an great polymer clay instruction book with good quality figures to make, this is the book you NEED to have.

For anyone looking to provide a creative aspect to gift giving, this book is ideal. There are so many useful instructionals for sculpting figures as gifts in these pages. My mother-in-law loves to collect figurines and this book will help ensure that she will never be disappointed throughout the holidays.

There are seasonal specific projects as well as general gift giving ideas. All projects can be easily completed by the freshest of novices to the most seasoned of veterans. These figures will be loved by both children and adults as decorative additions to any room or decor! Some projects may seem to simple for the experienced sculptor but I'm tellin' ya, you won't be disappointed with the results!
