Cut! I'm sure that Tommy Garrett has wonderful credentials but come on...
After reading just a couple of chapters - this book was riddled with typos and errors. Julie Newmar fighting with her neighbor, John Belushi in 2004? Kind of odd being that he died in 1982 - could her neighbor be Jim Belushi, John's brother? Or what about Tommy overhearing Cate Blanchett telling Kate Hudson "I hope that you win, you were great in Dreamgirls..." at the 2007 Oscars. Um, could he have meant Jennifer Hudson, who actually was in the movie and who did win? I realize that gossip flies under the fact check RADAR but where are the editors at Wasteland Press?

Tommy Lightfoot Garrett: The Making Of Hollywood Stars.
Well Tommy has excelled in producing another 'must' read for all interested in Hollywood and showbiz. As with Tommy's first hit 'So you want to be in pictures', various 'older' celebrities are discussed with great knowledge and respect. However, Tommy also discusses the newer generation of celebrities in Hollywood as: Drew, Jennifer, Nicole and Tom to name a few. Tommy has such vast inside knowledge of his friends and clients, and as always,tells it with such class and integrity.
The book is again well presented, with autographed pictures displayed throughout.
This is definately a read for all, interested in the old and new of Hollywood.

Tommy Lightfoot Garrett has written another winner. He dishes the dirt with the best of them, but always has a kind word to say about his subjects, which is a hard-to-find commodity in celeb-related books these days.

If you're into today's stars, (with a few classics thrown in for good measure), buy this book. You won't be sorry.

Tommy ushers the reader flawlessly into the Hollywood everyone should know!

I'm so pleased to have this, his second book on what those on the silver screen and our televisions, have given up for their craft.

Tommy lifts the curtain and walks the reader right into the personal lives of not only the past masters, but those in the hot lights at the moment! Get this book and join those who now have an enriched viewing experience, due to fascinating details Tommy has surfaced for us. As before, I find myself reading and pausing to share with family members... always starting off with my finger in the pages "wow, did you guys know this?".. fascinating stuff!!! Details about those who've been engrained in the American culture I knew as a child, like Lucille Ball.. who doesn't love Lucy? However, I had no idea about the struggles she faced in the industry and her personal life.

If you want to know more about the "A" listers, beyond tabloid waste tissue, THIS is your book. I'd like to write an extensive essay about the meaningful work Tommy has done here, but, actually, you shouldn't be reading my review, read the book instead, its' so much better :}

You'll want a pad of paper handy, as I did, when reading "The Making of Hollywood Stars" and should also say "what Hollywood Stars are Made of"... so you can get yourself to the movie rental to see the referenced films and TV series so impressively delved into. I scratch my head and have to wonder, who has the time to so thoroughly research such a diverse account? In a word, "amazing".

Certainly, of all the Hollywood inside scoop folks, Tommy has brought the legends to us like no other can!

I can safely say, I'll line my shelves with every book he authors!

I bought this book for two reasons; I love Tommy's writing style and his stories and, Drew Barrymore. All of the author's years in and around these people give him a unique spot from which to glean his interesting little nuggets of info about these people. What is most fun about his stories is that Tommy avoids falling into the cliche/rumor trap; he tells us about the people as if they're people versus celebrities. I always feel like I know a little more about his subjects though I wish he'd included Drew's phone number. Another winner by Tommy Garrett.
