not very useful for us,

This review is from: Making Life Better for a Baby with Acid Reflux (Paperback)
I was hoping to read more about detailed dealing with reflux and perhaps my expectations were wrong. This book talked a lot about what we already knew, a lot of common sense. It's a very thin book that I went through very quickly. I wasted my money and if you're looking for more about reflux the internet is the best tool. If you're looking to make peace with yourself with a reflux baby, this might be the book for you. However we didn't need a book to tell us to be nice to our baby. We love her wholeheartedly even if she screams and throw up all over ourselves every day. We were not depressed about it knowing that she will out-grow her reflux in just a few more months. And sure enough, now that she's 3 months old she's MUCH better.

Acid Refluz in infants,

This review is from: Making Life Better for a Baby with Acid Reflux (Paperback)
This is a rare book and well needed for parents because many doctors are ignoring the acid reflux and passing it off as "colic". This mother did her research after not getting the right answers, her work resulting in a great self-education book for parents of acid reflux infants. This is long overdo and needs to be read by more doctors, who seem to not recognize the symptoms. Our grandson had to see a specialist before he got relief, it is hard to understand why his symptoms were ignored by his pediatrician who simply said it was "colic." The author/mother also experienced the same frustrations with the medical community and did her own research, of which, is not general knowledge and needs to be provided to parents of acid reflux children who suffer along with their babies who have this painful problem. It can be treated quickly once it is diagnosed, but the infant suffers a great deal before it is caught, usually by a specialist because the parents persist to find a diagnosis other than "colic."

You are not alone,
This review is from: Making Life Better for a Baby with Acid Reflux (Paperback)
Mostly I found this book helpful for one important reason - I know I am not alone in how I feel. It also offers great advice that is practical about what you can do to keep your family intact. Real practical suggestions and it is different than other books I have read. A real blessing.
