no meat,

This review is from: Making Life Better for a Child with Acid Reflux (Paperback)
There is very little information here. 80% waste of time, 20% meat. Only for people who don't know how to do a google search (because this book will tell you how to do that). Having a child with reflux doesn't allow me enough time to filter through the self-help blather that is this book. I feel for all parents of reflux children, but please, give me something that I can use.

Easily Digestible Advice On An Indigestible Topic,
By john cunningham "JC" (Boston) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Making Life Better for a Child with Acid Reflux (Paperback)
I have had ulcers and acid reflux and taken medication for both for many years. In this book, I found more useful information on those problems than I ever got from my personal physicians. While the book utilizes contributions from medical professionals, it does not suffer from techno-speak and has useful charts and graphs to break information into easily digestible bits (for those who want to avoid mental reflux too). The chapters about the effects on parents are obviously written as a labor of love from the point of view of parents who have actually coped with this. As a matter of full disclosure, I know the authors - and I can tell you they really want to help other people who have children with the same problems they've encountered with severe acid reflux issues. This book represents years of work (on the problem and on the book) and the authors sought out the help and feedback of an incredible array of profesionals (and it shows). You don't often see authors put their own email addresses in the front of a book in case you want more info from them - shows a certain dedication to the topic. Hope this is helpful to others.

There is almost no information in this book that you can't find on the internet. Most of the "information" is generic.

Must Have Book,

This review is from: Making Life Better for a Child with Acid Reflux (Paperback)
I am so thankful that we found this book. Our first child suffered from reflux (3 years later still does) and our second child also suffers from it as well. It was incredibly comforting to find another parent who understands exactly what we have been going through. How everything from our home, health, finances, state of mind and sleepless MONTHS have taken there toll on us. Friends, family and other parents do not understand what we are currently going through. "Every baby cries" they say, "every baby is fussy." Right, I say, I can't tell the difference between cry and scream! We are especially thankful that you have taken the time to write this book - who has time for anything when you child has reflux?!

This is the most valuable tool any parent dealing with a child with acid reflux should have. As a parent of a toddler with a severe case of GERD and a tracheostomy I have been through the hospitals and with several doctors and I did not receive near as much information from them as I did from this book. The authors have put the information in an easy to read and follow format with a language we can all understand. This book is the light at the end of the tunnel. A DEFINITE MUST HAVE!!

An interesting book that is easy to read and also includes important medical descriptions of reflux. Bound to be very helpful for parents, their family, and friends.
