5.0 out of 5 stars I actually READ the book
This is actually a really good book about sex and making love - for Christians. It is direct and informative. The goal of the author is to show the difference between "having sex" and "making love." Gary even sheds light on some scriptures that are used by some men to get their wives to have sex when they don't want to. It also quotes some old testament texts that are...

1.0 out of 5 stars God Squad Version of How Sex should be!
"Making Love" is just another one of those terrible attempts to force "God" down our throats and preach to us about having sex. Quoting scripture as a means to have sex or make love is just annoying, my wife and I thought we'd buy some books just to try a spice up. This book was no more than a coaster to put my drink on while I read some REAL writing!
Every chapter...

This review is from: Making Love: The Chapman Guide to Making Sex an Act of Love (Marriage Saver) (Hardcover)
This is actually a really good book about sex and making love - for Christians. It is direct and informative. The goal of the author is to show the difference between "having sex" and "making love." Gary even sheds light on some scriptures that are used by some men to get their wives to have sex when they don't want to. It also quotes some old testament texts that are quite hot!

I wish I had this book 20 years ago. I think it would be a great gift to Christian newlyweds. There are so many misconceptions about sex and this book aims to shed light on the whole thing.

It in no way says that sex is ONLY about making babies, nor does it ram Bible texts down your throats. I really do hope that Amazon deletes that first review that gave the book a one. The guy obviously bought the book because of its name. The back of the book clearly states that Chapman explores the Judeo-Christian teachings on love and sex.

Gary Chapman is a great author and after having success w/ his Five Love Languages, I wanted to try another one of his books. This is a wonderful guide that you and your spouse can read together. There are thoughtful questions at the end of each chapter that lead to great conversation, insight and knowledge between partners. No, it is not a visual guide to "spice things up" as some were expecting. Yes, it IS a wonderful way to learn more about and explore your partner on a more intimate level. It's a short, easy read which promotes the art, intimacy and communication needed for a healthy and enjoyable love life between husband and wife. Enjoy...

Great place to start if you've been married for a while and don't know where to begin. Biblically based and aligned. Highly recommended.

Every chapter starts with, In the Hebrew scripture... then In the christian bible it says... then, When sharing your soul.... Whatever, to the author trust me. "WE DO IT COS IT FEELS GOOD! AND NOT COS GOD WANTS TO MAKE BABIES YOU FOOL!" This book would do better quoting Darwin and saying, "The animal kingdom too has sex for gratification just like us humans" If you ever saw a monkey pleasure himself you'd take a real close looks at the whole, "Adam & Eve" thing. This book is an insult to intelligent people. Religion has kept sex a sin for the last 2000 years, enough already. Everyone has sex, some people in deep relationships even make love from time to time, during such time, trust me God is not being thought of unless someone yells "Oh God!" that's pretty much it!

If I could give it a 0-10 I would but like I said, it made a good coaster 1 star.
