poor writing and poor editing,
By A Customer
This review is from: Making a Miracle (Hardcover)
I couldn't get all the way throught the book. It was poorly written and poorly edited. For example, Michael's sister was Terry on page 96, but Teri on page 118. Why isn't Hunter Tylo ashamed to tell about all the public tantrums and fist fights between herself and her husband? If I were Michael Tylo, I would be embarrassed. All and all, a boring book.

Guts, But Wisdom?,
By A Customer
This review is from: Making a Miracle (Hardcover)
The customer-reviews were interesting, but hard to evaluate. Too many sounded as if written by the author's fellow Born-Agains, which is fine, but some glaring trouble spots in the author's present thinking were overlooked. For example, Hunter Tylo seemed not to realize perhaps (giving her the benefit of the doubt) how mean-spirited it was to actually name the names of her ex-bestfriend-actress as well as the married actor Hunter claims made overtures to her [Not every reader is privy to nor wants to hear backstage soap-star intrigues]. These colleagues' privacy rights were not respected, they could not defend themselves, and think how devastating for their families to learn this in such a public way. Also, even if every single thing she said about them were true, this was years ago -- aren't they allowed the privilege Hunter gave herself of evolving, maturing? Instead, their personalities have become frozen, negative images per her book. Her husband also seemed to be more decent that she seems willing even now to give him credit for in the past. I also wondered about some of her religious friends who turned her away from the Eastern artifacts in her house -- they seemed equally disturbing in their overreaction to other religions. Hunter Tylo seems to be a sincere person and I wish her and her family well. But I do wonder if somewhere down the road, she might realize that she still seems to have some resentment to release, and that mending fences, as she states she dearly would love to do with her ex-friend, is better done by not subjecting the ex-friend to such unauthorized exposure. I did enjoy, even felt inspired by the last chapters. Even though the writing is high-school level, the author did manage to provide poignant moments when she spoke about feeling connected to God, and that was truly beautiful.

Still don't like her!,

This review is from: Making a Miracle (Hardcover)
I never really cared much for the Tylos, but after her case against Spelling & the unfortunate tragedy that took place regarding her daughter's cancer, I believed both Hunter & her husband deserved "another chance". Boy am I sorry, I gave them one. While I applaud her for having the courage to sue Spelling & truly hope all goes well for her daughter, I find it hard to sympathize with her and find her attitude as that of some one who believes every one around her is out to get her & that she is a "victim" - that she has done all she can to forgive - The rest is up to them. Look at her best friend, and the famous actors whom she rehearsed with & claimed were interested in nothing but getting her "onto the couch"! How arrogant! She spends 3/4 of the book discussing sex, drinking & beauty & shares approx 2 chapters on her beautiful daughter. There is page after page of Hunter pix and only three with her children (the most recent w/her sons is several years old). Any true Hunter fan who loves her as much as she loves herself will love this book - any one else will be shaking their heads in disbelief & disgust!

A Vapid Tale of an Ageing Soap Star,
By Kim (Los Angeles) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Making a Miracle (Hardcover)
If I were Hunter Tylo, I would be ashamed to admit that I act the way she says she does--drugs, drinking, fist fights with my husband, aldultery on both sides, and that's just for starters. This book paints a portrait of two very vapid, vain, self-centered, selfish and ageing actors who are struggling to come to terms with their last gasp at glory. All I can say after reading this trash is that I really feel sorry for the children of Hunter and Michael Tylo. No one should have to endure what these kids do.

She is NUTZZZ,
By Mom-in-charge (NJ) - See all my reviews

Boy do I feel differently about this actress after reading this book! I gave it a 4 because it reads in a Jerry Springer sort of way where you can't turn the channel, or in this case the page, because you can't believe what you are seeing/reading! First of all, she abandons her kids REGULARLY throughout her life (I don't care what her great excuses were), the one son is near suicide (umm, ya think?!), and don't even get me started on her journey to and affair in a foreign land (hubby should have kicked her to the curb for good then and there!). Finally, the childish way she spins tales about another actress was in my opinion defamation of character and in poor taste. I don't care what reborn crap she is trying to pull now, she is a mess and has put herself first her entire life. Doesn't her TERRIBLE new face and lips scream "LOOK AT ME!!!" We're looking alright and running the other way!!!

Making A Miracle,
By Robin Hellgren (California, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Making a Miracle (Hardcover)
Making a Miracle by Hunter Tylo is a heartwrenching and humbling story about her life as an actress, wife and mother. It is a very personal account of her marriage to actor Michael Tylo, and about her family's heartbreak over her baby daughter's bout with a rare form of childhood cancer. Hunter also discusses the "true story" in startling detail behind her lawsuit against Aaron Spelling who unjustly fired her from Melrose Place just because she was pregnant with her third child. You will laugh and cry and rejoice with Hunter as she recounts her life and speaks of her spiritual relationship with God and shares how His grace brought her through her ordeals. Whether your a fan of Hunter Tylo or not you will find her story inspiring.

Very Interesting and Hard to Put Down,
By Jamilla M. Mobley (United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Making a Miracle (Hardcover)
I read this book in like two days! That is how good it was. You won't want to put it down. It was well worth the price. Hunter Tylo is one beautiful, determined, strong, and VERY fascinating woman."Miracle" explores (in depth) everything from her childhood in TX,start in show business,to her Melrose Pl. Trial for Pregnancy Discrimination. I found much of the book shocking, revealing and even so inspiring. Other points in the book had me moved to tears, like her Mother's negativity toward her, her breakup with her husband and her sweet baby's battle against cancer. The book was really gripping, almost as addictive as chocolate!

Making A Miracle,
By A Customer
This review is from: Making a Miracle (Hardcover)
This is an excellent bio by Hunter Tylo, I started reading it one afternoon and could not put it down until I completed the book. It was vey easy to read, this is one of the few books that I have read in one sitting. Tylo's life style in her twenties and early thirties reminded me of my wild times, she and I were both lucky to have found God at the right time. I admire Tylo's courage to expose her private life in order to help someone, I wish I had her strength and class. Obviously she was completely honest and it showed God will Bless her for that. In my opinion the book was funny, scary and extremely sad, especially the parts about Katya and the trip to India. The book proves what a talented and classy lady Hunter is no one could have guessed while watching The Bold and the Beautiful that her life was such a mess. Thank you Hunter for sharing this with us.

Not Enough Warmth,
By A Customer
This review is from: Making a Miracle (Hardcover)
There are two things about this book that disturbed me immensely. One is the quality of writing - which I could get over - but the other is how self-involved she is throughout the book. The latter I could not get past. I was disappointed and saddened.
