I agreed to review this book months ago! And why did it take months to post? Because you can't just read it, you have to do it! Each chapter ends with assignments that take a lot of mental processing power, and each chapter is filled with links and resources so it takes a lot of research power.

I started the book completely skeptical. The author displays her credentials and experience and I raised my eyebrows. Then I suddenly remembered where I'd seen that name before--Donna Partow. She's the author of "Becoming a Vessel God Can Use," a book that impacted myself and my best friends studying it together in college. This was the same woman?!? Okay, she had my attention and I kept reading...

This is not a book that is easy to put into practice. Making money from home will involve research, creativity, planning, and marketing. She tells you how to go about starting each process but after that it's all up to you, baby.

So, it took me 3 months to finish and I have a notepad of ideas and projects and research to follow up on. And, to be honest, I need to read it again. You won't use everything in the book but even starting small is sure to reap some rewards. Just have a highlighter, a notebook, and the internet by your side before you dare to pick this book up. I give it 5 book lights, and apologies to Tyndale House Publishers for taking so long to post this review after you graciously provided this complimentary copy.

Making Money From Home by Donna Partow

In these trying times, many of us are looking for ways to make money. Making money from home is the best way to add to the family bank account or to just make some extra money for a cushion. In 'Making Money From Home', Ms. Partow shows us many ways to earn some cash from home, using our computer. The knowledge that she shares with us will help anyone to get started. In addition to her book, there is also a website where more information can be found. There is a lot of information contained in all of the chapters. Some of their titles include: Foundations For a Home Based Business, Exploring Your Options, Business Basics and Marketing Your Business. This book really gives you the tools and answers to help you get set up quickly. I can't stress enough how much good and practical information is included in this book.

Reading 'Making Money From Home has really inspired me to take a look at possibly starting my own at home business. If you are thinking about starting your own at home business, then you really need this book and all the help links, suggestions and basic business know-how that you will find within the chapters. Ms. Partow also covers various points of handling the home distractions while maintaining order and peace within your office. This is such a good source of information that you will need and can use, that I recommend that you buy this book and study it, to help you get your new business up and running.

Partow gives great advice on several types of businesses. She addresses internet businesses the most, which is appropriate for this point in history. I especially value the extra resources she gives throughout the book.

Have you ever wanted to work from home? And be successful at it? Successful author, entrepreneur and ministry leader Donna Partow has been doing so very well for over 20 years. Her latest book, Making Money from Home, is filled with fantastic advice, tips, suggestions and plain old common sense. It covers topics such as: Getting Started, Time Management, Money Management, Priorities, Options, Marketing, Business Basics, Sales, Social Networking and (most importantly) Family Time.

The current economic crisis our Nation is in, has shown us (if we didn't already know) there is no job security and we are responsible for our own financial well-being. People are starting out every day, and succeeding in, operating a business of their own. There is a ton of information out there on how to, but what is really accurate. It is imperative to find a trusted source and build from there. With Making Money from Home, we find that it is possible to have a profitable business of our own, without being all alone. It is a wonderful resource that will benefit both new entrepreneurs and those who would like to take their business to the next level.

Donna Partow's "Making Money From Home" is a valuable resource for anyone who is looking to start a home-based business, add dimension to an existing business or even establish a presence in cyberspace. I found several bits of information to have value to me personally as a blogger. This resource can be used to enhance your established online persona or actually assist you with planning and starting a business that will make you some form of income.

There is information on legal issues that will whet your whistle to learn more about the laws where you are located so that you can protect your business. There are also chapters on marketing and balancing family life with a home-based business, which can be particularly challenging when your workplace is where you live. Each chapter ends with a list of questions designed to provoke thought about your business and assist with its planning and execution. I can't wait to pass this book to my husband to see what kinds of ideas he can come up with for putting it to even more use.

I think I would have givenn this more stars if we were looking to start a serious business as it deals with a lot of details on getting a business going. However, we were looking for ideas to actually start moving on slowly and she gives some ideas, but not all I thought it would be.

Don't take my comments as to this is a bad book, it is not. It is just not a guide for someone looking for a lot of specific companies or such to get going with. More unrealistic expectations on our part.

Let's face it, times are tough. Who can't use a little extra money to help make ends meet? Making Money from Home by Donna Partow is the breath of fresh air I'd been looking for. It revived my Entrepreneurial spirit that had been lying dormant for several years.

Entrepreneurs have been around since before America became a country, but that coupled with a faith in Christ was the life blood that made this country great. Donna refreshes the idea with all the new technology that makes marketing so much easier: e-Bay, Pay Pal, direct and indirect marketing. She covers the fundamentals of each facet of running your own successful business with web addresses for additional help. From carving out space for your home office to paying taxes, Donna's book can take you from idea to working business in clear easy to follow steps.

Tips are sprinkled liberally through out the book. Donna rounds out each chapter with questions to ask yourself and an assignment. The questions will get you thinking about your business and sharpen your focus. There are assignments that will can be as easy as setting a date to open a PayPal account or coming up with names for your business to checking into zoning laws for your home based business.

Donna also touches on multiple streams of income, an idea that runs counter to the mainstream mentality of one job for life or working for a large corporation. Donna has been on this track, running her own businesses,for twenty years. In order to survive that long, she must be doing something right. I have read quite a few aritcles and books on this subject, and this is definitely one of the best. Want to start enjoying the freedom that made this country great? Grab this book and you'll have everything it takes to launch your new business.

This was an easy to read book that briefly described the steps to starting your own home-based business. She mentioned the importance of time management and having enough time for family, along with spending time with your business. At the end of each chapter were questions and assignments to do to better understand how to run your business. It's a lot like other money making books out there but doesn't put you to sleep while reading it. I believe it would be beneficial to anyone wanting to start their own home-based business.

Great book with even better ideas about making money from home. The ideas about selling information are priceless! There is something in this book for everyone.

Donna Partow's book based on earning an income from home is different than several others I've read. You're provided with a basic layer of information on how to get started. Kind of like a "checks and balances" sort of thing, more so the "checks"... what I mean is, Donna goes on to explain what needs to be done to be successful. What needs to be done to not set yourself up for failure.

What Donna doesn't do is get in to a ton of actual business models, how to profit from them, but then again that's in a lot of other books... and there's lots of information online, too. This is a great book for someone that doesn't have knowledge, or has very little knowledge, and has this idea in their head that they want to make money from home, the "most ideal income", in my opinion.

What I would suggest for readers is read this book, but also buy another with a more exact game plan or business models so after understanding the groundwork, you'll be more easily able to comprehend more extensive business models and such. 4/5 stars, thank you Donna!
