5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read!
This book has tons of ideas that will increase sales. It is full of things that are easy to forget about, or ignore, when running a business. The best part of this book is that the stories and ideas are REAL- simple suggestions and anecdotes that even the busiest retailer will have time to implement. I highly recommend this book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Quick Read on Ferry
Read book while riding on the fire island ferry. A very quick read. Was expecting some new business advice and strategies, that didn't happen. Book seems to state obvious business strategies that would be apparent to a ten year old running a lemonade stand, such as if you treat a customer well they will comeback to your store. Who would of thought that? Freedman's...

5.0 out of 5 stars Get Charged Up, May 15, 2009
This review is from: Making Money is Not Illegal, Immoral, or Fattening (Paperback)
This book is so refreshing to read! Turns out you do not have to have three degrees and years of experience to run a small business, it helps, but Art walks you through common sense steps he has developed and learned that really make the difference between surviving and thriving and creating the business you want. His "nuggets" are indeed golden and reading this book and putting it's ideas into action will make you more money. I have read many business books and most have had something to offer, this book is simply too valuable to miss and more fun to read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Independent Retailers need to read this book!, June 17, 2009

Use just a couple of Art's suggestions from this book and your business will make a lot more money. He explains why you need to charge enough to maintain a profitable business and why it isn't a bad thing to make money. This book is short, very easy to read and is written in plain layman's terms that any retailer can understand but is packed full of useful information.

Use any one of Arts' ideas for improving your bottom line and you will earn a 100 times the cost of the book. I have read a lot of business and retailing books over the years and this one has to rank at least #2 maybe #1 I have ever read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Retail...with a PASSION!, June 8, 2009

I've seen Art speak in person and he writes the same way he speaks...with a PASSION for Retail. He constantly offers up what he calls "nuggets" throughout the book. These Nuggets will challenge you and make you smarter, plus he suggests that you take them one of two at a time. He knows that nothing will happen if you just read this book. You need to commit to DOING something with the knowledge and experience he's taken the time to write about in this book.

Don't just read this book.... but read it with a pen and pad. Commit to yourself that you WILL use the nuggets and take action on the items he suggests. Involve your Team-if you have one. Roll out the ideas on a consistent but measured basis. Don't "throw up" on them, but rather give them time to absorb and exact the business changing tenants offered up in this book. That way, should you ever run into Art somewhere you'll be able to tell him what a difference it made in your business and ultimately in your life! Nothing will make him happier!
