Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

Making the Most of Your Llama has been reviewed and updated by reliable veterinary staff. As one llama owner wrote, "This book enables the breeder to eliminate chance and enjoy our llamas better and determine a healthier animal."

From the Author

Thanks to my good friend, Cathy Crisman, I became aware of llamas in 1986. I was invited to her farm to brush, clean, train - in general just have fun with these fascinating creatures. It was also through Ms. Crisman that I met my husband, a river pilot and llama owner. When we married, I was suddenly llama mama to ten females. Because we owned two imported Chilean males, I was exposed to breeding services, birthing, training and sales. Even before our herd reached 40 we were making the most of our llamas by using their wool, manure and cria for pleasure as well as profit.

Ms. Crisman and I wrote the first edition of Making the Most of Your Llama pooling our resources and knowledge. Much of the on the trail experience comes from her expertise.

Llamas are easy keepers, great listeners and cheaper than a psychologist. Make the most of yours!

This review is from: Making the Most of Your Llama (Paperback)
Making the Most of Your Llama does just that - advice on how to get started, how to keep them healthy, how to train on the trail and how to use the by products of the llama - babies, manure and wool! I have the first edition - this one is greatly improved and expanded.

What a horrible book, I thought for the price it would be much much better. Do not waste your money. If you are looking for a good book about Llama's try "A Guide to Raising Llamas".

This review is from: Making the Most of Your Llama (Paperback)
I didn't know much about llamas - just that they were cute and I liked them. I appreciated the information in this book, it has helped when I have visited llama farms and worked with these marvelous animals.
