About the Author
Morton Subotnick is one of the United States' premier composers of electronic music and an innovator in works involving instruments and other media, including interactive computer music systems. He has been affiliated with acclaimed universities (Cal Arts Assoc. Dean of Music, Residency at MIT, Artist in Residence at NYU School of Arts); was the first Director of Music at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre at Lincoln Center; his many works are performed all over the world with major symphonies and musical organizations. Currently Subotnick co-directs both the Composition program and the Center for Experiments in Art, Information and Technology at the California Institute of the Arts.
