If you are looking for projects to do with kids, that will keep them entertained even after the project is done, then this is an ideal book for you.

Bart Hopkin's joyous character shines through in every wonderful word and helpfull diagram.
Not only is this book a guide for making simple musical instruments with items you'd find around the house, it is a guide to playing them as well, leaving a long lasting effect

From incredibly simple balloon and elastic creations, to more intricate pvc contraptions, there is something for almost every age.

It is the perfect companion for those working with very young children, and an ideal text book for older children to work through on their own.

These marvelous musical designs will even appeal to those adults who still have, or would like to rediscover the inner kid

I have been a teacher since 1960, and am constantly looking for projects to use with kids of all ages. This book has projects appropriate for young kids as well as some easy ones that I can use with h.s. aged students to illustrate some important science principles.

Mt grandkids are all fired up to try some of the projects already.

I ordered this book to use to plan a weekend of camp activities with children of all ages and wanted something more sophisticated than the very simple, non-durable projects I found online. This book is amazing. Each instrument is clearly described with a skill level, materials and tool list (most materials are inexpensive and easy to acquire), procedure for making the instrument, playing it and further possibilities. The CD that comes with the book lets you hear how each instrument sounds so that you can chose to make a variety with very different sounds.

The book is totally worth the money and the hardest part will be deciding which projects to make because there are so many possibilities!
