For civic activists, students of nonprofitdom, and practitioners, David Hammack's reader is an essential reading. He uniquely combines deep historical insight with a sensitivity to the concerns and interests of contemporary managers, citizens, and advocates.

I purchased this book to review for my comprehensive graduate exam for MPA-Nonprofit Mgmt. It's a good, quick reference that encompasses a great deal of information that can be used to study from.

The book arrived on a timely fashio. However, even though this was a used book, the prize should have been less than 10 dollars given the quality. I would have been better off spending 5 more dollars for a brand new book.
