An enjoyable read and visual from Gerald Scarfe's perspective describing his classic drawings and directed animation that brought so much of Roger Water's The Wall to such enriching life. Scarfe describes the manner in which he began working with Pink Floyd and there is considerable amount of discussions between Scarfe and Waters, David Gilmour and Nick Mason. Just saw Roger Water's rendition of The Wall live in Cleveland last week and Scarfe's visuals continue to astound. Looking forward to seeing more of the same in St. Louis, Columbus and Detroit. The visuals simply enhance the music and this book gives the opportunity to understand how it all came together from initial inspirations for the Wish You Were Here tour thru The Wall and solo Waters material. If you enjoy The Wall and its visuals (includes some concert photos from the 1980 and 1981 tour), or the cult favorite movie - read and enjoy the visuals of this book. If you really enjoy The Wall or have even a passive interest in same, see Roger Water's tour of The Wall. It's extremely enjoyable and unlike anything you've seen (unless you've seen Pink Floyd or Waters before). Sorry for getting sidetracked, but you can maximize your experience. Check this book out.

It tells you all there's to know about the graphics behind, in front and on the Wall.

As a Pink Floyd fan the only reason not to buy this book is being broke because you bought to many tickets to the 2010/2011 the Wall tour...

Gerry's book provides a great in-depth look into the design process that went into The Wall album, stage show, and movie (also includes pre and post-Wall material, including art for Roger Waters' current tour). HIGHLY recommended to any Floyd fan.

The book is full-colour and full of great pictures & illustrations.

This book is absolutely essential reading for Floyd fans. As we all know the four Floyds were, and still are, intensely private individuals with absolutely no interest in letting the outside world in. This book is a chance for an outsider, artist and animator Gerald Scarfe, to give his insight on the interpersonal relationships between band members, their manager, Steve O'Rourke, Alan Parker, Bob Ezrin and others while working with the band during the making of the album, movie and stage show of The Wall. It's a very rare opportunity to hear someone else's take on Pink Floyd, especially someone so close to the inner workings of the band...and it does not disappoint.

Bought this as a gift for my dad; we both went to the Roger Waters the Wall concert in Las Vegas. This was a really cool book, especially given the concert experience. The book exceeded my expectations. Cool pictures and lots of information.

Te Wall uno de los albumnes iconos del Rock y de Pink floyd, tiene entre sus muchos atractivos los distosionados dibujos de Gerry Scarfe. Este libro muestra precismente eso Todo el prologo del trabajo de Gerry desde tiempos de Dark Side of The moon hasta The Wall. De una manera muy Versatil se muestra como Gerry creaba toda una escena a traves de imagitivos dibujos que complementaban con la musica de Floyd. Todo esto se vio condecorado en el Album The Wall donde Gerry mostro todas sus dotes. En making of The Wall puedes ver todos los bocetos, imagenes, cuadros que fueron o no fueron incluidos en la pelicula, shows o caratula del album y lo hace de una manera muy entretenida con cometarios de Gerald Scarfe, Roger Waters, Nick Mason y David Gilmour.

Por esto, este libro se hace indispensable en la bibloteca Floydiana.

Si no eres tan fanatico no importa este libro tampoco te defraudara. Lo recomiendo.
