Book Description

December 26, 2006
Mike Breaux doesn't do life halfway---maybe that's why he thinks a 'cannonball' is the only suitable entry into a swimming pool. 'Deep down, I think all of us sense we were put on this planet to do something significant---to touch someone's life; to do some good.' Again and again, he's seen the cannonball approach make that happen. 'Water goes flying everywhere! The ripples go out, hit the side, and come back in.' In this book, Breaux shares the concept of creating 'ripples'---where a life touches a life, which touches a life, which touches a life.

Editorial Reviews

Review

'Mike Breaux is a powerful communicator....This book is very teenage-friendly. It would be a great read for students struggling with self-image, self-worth, and purpose. Breaux challenges us to begin making ripples that will move the lives of others toward Christ.' -- YouthWorker Journal

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring and thought-provoking, February 16, 2007
This review is from: Making Ripples (Hardcover)
I picked up this little book and thought, "OK, just another book of devotions." How wrong could I be? Mike Breaux doesn't deal with platitudes and saccharin sweetness. This isn't a "preacher book"--it's a book about a man who found God and how God used him. Breaux uses his own journey and the stories of others he has encountered to show how one life can affect another, with the ripples spreading on and on. For Christians, it's affirming. For those who are seeking, it's encouraging. If you'd like something inspiring to make your day better, read Making Ripples.

3.0 out of 5 stars An Inspirational Message, February 7, 2007
This review is from: Making Ripples (Hardcover)
In the spirit of Christian endeavor, Mike Breaux challenges his readers to never waste their life. His short chapters help his invigorating and encouraging writing style. The stories are funny and well-chosen.

I read this book in one day but believe the principles are solid and life changing. I recommend this book for anyone who is beginning to think along the lines of "Is this struggle worthwhile?"

Making Ripples is definitely among my Top 5 favorite books. While a short read, it is a powerful portrayal of the affect people have on others either directly or indirectly. I give this book to people in order to underline the importance their words and actions are having on the world around them. Excellent read!
