Editorial Reviews

Review

"'Have you ever wished there were more hours in the day? In what is both a practical manual and a textbook of psychology, he illustrates that time itself is in some sense an illusion... It is possible to alter our perceptions in order to make time pass quickly or slowly and Taylor shows how it can be done' Good Book Guide 'Taylor explores these ideas in an entirely accessible and engaging way. Time you read it' The Crack"

5.0 out of 5 stars Reading this makes time go fast! Well worth the time to read it., May 23, 2011
This review is from: Making Time: Why Time Seems to Pass at Different Speeds and How to Control It (Paperback)
This book explains the rules of psychological time: what makes it go fast, what slows it down. It goes into great detail about all the rules and reasons they work.

One interesting way to make time slow down is to fill it with loads of new things to perceive. So, for example, a person who travels all the time to new countries will pack a lot more into there years, thereby making time slow down.

The final chapters tell you how to control and transcend time. Basically, you have to meditate, be mindful, slow down, be in the present--and then for you time will no longer be linear, but rather the "eternal NOW."
