I was really excited to get this book. When it stated there were TWELVE recipes to making whoopie pies and filling I was really excited. I thought, finally I can make all kinds of different pies. Not the case. Each recipe one change one or two ingredients and/or amount of ingredient. So you really get a recipe for Chocolate pie, 1 vanilla and 1 red velvet. Icing recipe is either with or without marshmallow fluff... I'm sorry, but EVERY single recipe listed is FREE on the internet, which is where the author got them, or was given to her by a bakery... I thought these would be new, exciting recipes and fillings. The author talked about how exciting it is to try different fillings with different cake flavors, such as Peanut Butter or Mint combinations, etc. and did not include any recipes. How are we to make these exciting combinations, when the base recipe isn't included to make them? This is the first time I have ever decided to return a book to amazon. I think it was a complete waste of money.

This book is fun! It includes 16 recipes -- "Classic Chocolate Whoopie I & II" (both feature lots of chocolate, butter & sugar) to Red Velvet Whoopie to Banana Whoopie. Unquestionably my favorite is the "Two Fat Cats Bakery Whoopie Pie with homemade fluff." Variations on the core 16 recipes yield a dozen more. The text/recipes are easy to read, the binding allows the the cookbook to lay flat and the paper is heavy so it's great in the kitchen. It's hard to find anything wrong, it's an outstanding book.

More than just recipes this book will get you up to speed on the whole Whoopie Craze and why they've taken the place of the cupcake and are quickly taking the world by storm. Discover the origins of this sweet treat and a few health varieties, and a Whoopie Pie Festival in Maine you can take the whole family to. Get this book before you make cupcakes one more time, you'll be glad you did. The recipes are wicked easy.

Disappointed in cookbook
I was really disappointed int he cookbook and was expecting more than I got from it. I had gotten a number of the cookbooks and was disappointed with a lot of them.
