The Making of the X-Files: Fight the Future brings the reader onto the set and into the studios. If you are not familiar with the intricacies of producing a film, prepare to be boggled by the hectic schedule required to make Fight the Future possible. Combining a past-tense narrative on the various stages of production, with first-person, present-tense journal entries for anecdotal flavor, Duncan offers a dual perspective on the evolution of the movie. Her narrative is punctuated with stills from the film, and behind-the-scenes photographs. The movie's concept illustrations also adorn the pages, and make for interesting backgrounds to the text and photos. Die-hard X-philes will get their dose of trivia, with interesting facts on everything from secrecy protocols to set construction to bee wrangling. About the Author

Chris Carter is the writer and producer for The X-Files Feature Film, as well as the creator, executive producer, and frequent writer for the award-winning television series. Mr. Carter has received an Emmy Award Nomination, a Writers Guild nomination, and a nomination for directing from the Directors Guild of America. He lives in Los Angeles.

The book was good for what it was. It goes into great depth of how hard it is to make a movie. I thought the book got boring at times. I would recommend this book to the true x-files fan or just anyone who wants to see how a movie is made.

An excellent story of the creation of the movie. Jody Duncan in the perfect author for this type of book. Ms Duncan is the editor of Cinefex, a brilliant journal on visual effects. As such she has extensive knowledge on the processes and trials of filmmaking. What this means is that this book is no "making of" publicity stunt, but rather a genuine and insightful story about the making of the X-Files feature film. It is made all the more enjoyable and accessible by Ms Duncan's excellent writing style. Highly recommended.

This book was well worth the $30.00 I spent on it, as there was an exclusive preview of the X-Files Game with it!!! The photos in the book are great, as is the information provided. I have never read an issue of Cinefex, but I can tell the Editor is an excellent writer.
