2.0 out of 5 stars Very basic
I think this book is pretty poor. I was very enthusiastic about reading it when I heard her on the radio. However, the book is a lot about her own self-promotion and seeing how good she is about making her dreams come true, but the practical tools are very basic. Maybe useful for someone starting on this path, but not for a coach for instance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Find Purpose and Passion in Your Life, January 6, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Making Your Dreams Come True (Hardcover)
I have read many types of books on self-improvement which have helped to improved my life, but this book has moved me beyond explanation. In just two hours, I have already read over half of the book while completing Marcia Wieder's valuable exercises. I am extremely excited because through these exercises I am discovering my true life's purpose and actually envisioning specific, tangible ways to accomplish my dreams.

By the way, I am a very practical minded woman with a secure, well-paying job in a Fortune 500 company. I also have three great children, a happy marriage, own a large home, am in excellent health with terrific friends, and I'm earning straight A's in college (among many other blessings). Still, I have not been content with how my life has developed and I couldn't quite pinpoint the problem. This book has left me with a renewed hope for a bright and exciting future. If something is missing in your life and you want to live it with passion, I highly recommend you get this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Practical & Powerful, January 5, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Making Your Dreams Come True (Hardcover)
Just wanted to take the time to share my experience in reading this book with anyone considering buying it. Of all of the books I've read on the topic of success (personal & professional), this is by far the most practical and powerful step-by-step guide I've ever encountered. Marcia Wieder is a funny and captivating writer with a clear and focused approach to acheiving goals. I've read many books that have suggested ideas for creating success that simply were not suitable solutions that could be easily applied in my life. This book is different, the instructions in this book are written for the average person, not someone with the ability to just walk out of a job to pursue a dream of becoming something else. For some this may be a viable alternative, not for me. I needed help clarifying my dreams and an easy formula for manifesting these dreams in my life. This book has been more helpful to me than any other book I've read on the subject of acheiving goals, personal/professional success, etc. After reading this book, I began to identify what my passion was and how I could bring that passion into my everyday life without doing anything radical or unrealistic! This book is fantastic and I'm sure anyone who chooses to read it will not regret their decision!

Marcia Wieder's latest book is upbeat, user friendly and wraps it's arms around you as you read it.I know Marcia and have seen her in action many times. It is wonderful to see her creative and heartfelt energy that has helped thousands achieve their dreams, captured so brilliantly in this book. I believed I could create my dreams more and more as I read each page. I was especially impressed with the ease and flow I found as I went through the exercises. The stories of how other people created their dreams by using the many tools this book offers, was very inspiring and so believable that I was moved to say to anyone that has a dream, large or small, this book is a must.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read!, January 3, 2000
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Making Your Dreams Come True (Hardcover)
I saw Marcia on PBS and was so impressed - I immediately bought the book. I got through all the workshops pretty rapidly. For the first time I saw how far I have really come in making my own dreams come true. I couldn't believe it. The book is so powerful, I bought 6 more to share with friends and family - so they too could get pointers on how to make their dreams come true. Marcia is an incredible writer, and keeps you engaged and excited throughout the entire book. If there was a 10star rating - I'd give it to this book!

4.0 out of 5 stars Dreamers Who Are Doers!, January 13, 2004
By
This review is from: Making Your Dreams Come True (Hardcover)
America's "Dream Coach" suggests that in order to make your dreams reality, you take action in the direction of your dreams. After identifying one's passions, followup should be made in the form of acting on those discoveries. A dreamer must start the journey where they are. Waiting for ideal conditions is futile.
"Start by thinking about your dream as real," she writes.

Visualization is an essential component of the process. "Picture yourself already living your dream," she encourages. In other words, the dream starts in one's mind's eye. Seeing (internally) is believing. Be cautious with whom you share your dream, but to trustworthy friends and fellow dreamers, communicate your vision. "The more you speak and write about your dream, the sooner you'll live it," she advises.

This is a inspiring book on focusing on the things that will enable you to determine your target and hit it. There is much practical advice in this highly recommended book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dreamers - A Take-Action Guide to Move You Forward!, December 4, 2003
This review is from: Making Your Dreams Come True (Hardcover)
This book (and it's companion tape set) is a definate treasure. I was fortunate to hear Marcia at a business conference (isn't that a twist - dreams at a business conference!) and was enthralled.

She is positive, uplifting, and really encourages you to examine closely what makes you happy, what you'd really like to accomplish, and how to get out of your own way. Marcia won't beat you up, but she will give you concrete, take-action steps to move you forward from "it would be nice if..." to "I'm making it happen!".

This book was instrumental in helping me decide to move from my IT career of over 19 years into my own business as an Image Coach. I find much more fulfillment in doing this, and it's this book that made it possible. I recommend this to any and everyone who feels that they are meant for something more than what they are doing right now, or who needs to find more fulfillment in what they are doing.

Everyone who reads this book won't necessarily change their life's direction drastically, but this book will definately get you looking inward and gives you the tools to build a much brighter and more welcome future.

Highly recommended, along with the companion web site and if you can get a copy of her tape set, do so...the audio tapes make a great add-on for the book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Maybe the best practical book on making dreams come true!, November 22, 2001
By
The whole idea of making dreams come true is a tough nut to crack. While the whole notion may conjure up a lot of doubt, this unique book does a pretty good job of solving the problem. I've had the fortune of hearing Marcia Weider speak in person and by the way, she is a dynamic speaker, I think that her book here is a pleasant surprise. Readers will enjoy her use of diagrams, charts, lists and all the things that an experienced seminar leader needs in order to illustrate such an abstract concept. While this book has probably not sold that well, I think it is a very valuable contribution to the field of personal developement. I think that success-oriented women in particular should buy this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible - Must Read Book, August 9, 2000
This review is from: Making Your Dreams Come True (Hardcover)
This is a book that is incredibly well written and one that offers many areas for inward reflection. It shows you to first set up a plan of what your dream is you want to accomplish and then walks through excercises to get you thinking of how you are going to accomplish your dream and how to deal with the many obstacles that either you or somehow get in the way of accomplishing your dream.

I have read her other books and find this author to be one that is extremely insightful, and a great book to really take your time digesting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Life-Changing!, March 29, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Making Your Dreams Come True (Hardcover)
After attending just one afternoon session of Marcia's incredible program and acting on just one step in the dream process, I began to see a lifelong dream come true! Marcia talks about filling out a dream deposit slip where you make a commitment to yourself to take one step towards your dream within the next 7 days. This was incredibly difficult for me because I feel really obligated to follow through if I write something down and I just didn't see how my dream would ever come true. Not expecting it to happen, I felt like a failure because I knew I wouldn't honor my commitment to myself. Fear had me bound. But with Marcia and my family's encouragement to go after my dream, I took the first step and called a friend of mine who had an incredible resume' within the music industry. I asked him to listen to me sing and give an honest opinion. AFter listening to me in the studio only half way through a song, he said "You have to do an album". Two years later (and a lot of dream steps in between) my album was out. I had worked the Christmas season in Branson, Mo working as a vocalist with Tony Orlando and then on to a fantastic show with a wonderfully gifted man named Tony Melendez. In his show I am free to be creative, choose my own material and work the way I like to work! Marcia wrote my story in the book! I NEVER even thought that my story could help someone else. I just wanted to see my dream come true. Now I love working in the music industry and will begin work on my next album shortly in addition to performing 100 shows this season in Branson!

IF YOU WANT TO SEE YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE. READ THIS BOOK! WITH MARCIA'S HELP AND YOUR DETERMINATION TO SEE IT HAPPEN, IT WILL HAPPEN! ORDER THIS BOOK RIGHT NOW!
